It's your chance to become a Certified Whisky Expert (or maybe just another excuse to get drunk ) https://www.forbes.com/sites/felipeschrieberg/2019/02/27/can-an-online-course-turn-you-into-a-certified-whisky-expert/#8cae39a6e3ad https://www.edinburghwhiskyacademy.com/
It's a wallhanger - but a very nice one, I think. As the article says, it won't really make you an expert, but it will give you as good a grasp of the fundamentals as can be had in 10 hours: the history, how uisge beatha is made etc. I quit drinking about 15 years ago, but I'll NEVER say anything against the production and understanding of good whisky - or that American stuff - whiskey, which is really good, too. I could be tempted to take the CWE course - but I'd have to pass up any tasting, etc. I've done my share already, I assure you. Maybe they can start a Master's course for those wishing advanced study- the CWE diploma gets you admission and THEN there's tasting, blending etc. Perhaps all necessary products can be shipped by Amazon. Just a thought.
Oh, I gave it up about three years ago and I don't miss the buzz but the industry IS interesting. They ought to double print the diploma, about 1/32 inch off!
Not a big fan of whisky, but the venue for the gin course is the Royal Botanic Gardens, which are amazing. Well, eight months of the year, anyway.
