Hello all, I would be interested in discussion forums for online instructors. Does such a beast exist? If not, would there be any interest in creating one here? Thanks in advance... Nancy
Such a beast does exist at http://www.distance-educator.com/forums/ Not widely used, though perhaps that could change. G
There is also the newsgroup alt.education.distance.teaching Again, not much traffic, but there could be lurkers waiting for someone to start things. Bruce
DEOS run by Penn State. They discuss DL delivery systems at length. The forum's participants are mostly teachers at traditional universities offering DL. Not much in the way of entire DL schools, other nontraditional schools, accreditation, degree acceptability, degree mills, foreign schools, and the rest of the stuff that usually makes up the fodder for this forum. I don't care for DEOS - the messages are edited and sometimes not even posted at all. After having several messages cut by more than half and one not posted at all -- I decided that was not for me. I would like to see an additional forum here for online teachers/instructors/profs. After all, without those of us who teach online, there would be no distance learning Leslie *who absolutely LOVES teaching online and will never set foot in a traditional classroom again*
