Look at the times on the posts. We posted what must have been simultaneously.

Of course I accept your apology. I hope you notice that there is a lot to accept. I don't take being called a coward lightly. Given that was my first post in this thread (and one of my very few on the war), I'm not sure what elicited your response.

    However, what's done is done.

Being a minister, or so I thought, had something to do with being charitable. And yes, it is uncharitable to call someone "disconnected from reality" if it is untrue. Something about "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor."

Conservatives use this logic to try to shame those who are anti-war and left of themselves. It's an old trick... and doesn't work. One can hate a war, but be supportive of the troops who have no choice but to go and fight it. This nation made a huge mistake in that regard during and after the war in Vietnam. The memories of returning to the US after having fought honorably in that unambiguously dishonorable war, and being spat upon -- and worse -- by anti-war protesters who didn't differentiate between the war and those forced to go out and fight it, still sting even today for most Vietnam war vets.

Tom is right. Our troops in Iraq deserve to be fully armed, fully protected, well-led, well-fed, and brought home safely. One can support that notion...

...and still both believe and espouse that they shouldn't be there in the first place; and that the war in Iraq is wrong.

I'm with Tom 110% on this.

Which drones are those? Your invective is constant and your specificity nil.

I don't mean to pick on Carl by quoting his post but it is indicative of where this thread was headed. There's too much bad blood here. Cool off. This thread is locked.
