Am I glad to see you post again! Welcome back (that is, I hope that you are back ...).

FWIW:

Dr. Douglas, those who revere and respect you far outnumber those who revile you. I base this supposition on the sheer number of substantive posts here which are either neutral or appreciative and supportive of your many informed positions, even opinions.

Also, I base my assertion on the number of persons here on DI (both real and imagined) who have stated that they have, directly or indirectly, benefitted from your expertise, knowledge and contributions.

They are generally respectful and cordial even in the heat of debate, and I suppose, are also genuinely interested in higher education in general and DL in particular.

Thanks for substantively contributing to the extant body of knowledge in higher education. Do stay, please.

p.s: Insults and ridicule (of you and other eminents and members in here and elsewhere) by the perpetual insulters and disgruntleds, will probably never cease. But, as long as it is you and you alone, not the insulters, who pay your mortgage and feed your kids (if any), let it not bother you one iota!

Indeed. By the way, do you have any specific cases you can cite regarding people who "talk incessantly about their own concomitant accomplishments"? Please cite them. If not, perhaps a good course of action is to dismiss what you say, as usual.

I look forward to you actually backing up of what you say, instead of crying like a little kid with a skinned knee, again as usual.

You often tout your expertise when someone challenges your bullying comments. Then, when you run out of amunition, you start name calling or disparaging others. I imagine that if you commented on threads within your area expertise instead of picking fights your number of posts per day would plummet. Go back and read some of your posts, my friend. Your online tone could be vastly improved; that is a fact.

Do you have anything actually involving DL to add, or is your role simply to attempt to police the activities of posters with whom you disagree?

Clearly, this thread has run its course, becoming a dyad sustained only by your baseless attacks. But I encourage others to see what third parties have had to say on this thread.

Because I post to only a small number of threads, I'll have little chance to see when and where you post next. But I will be curious to see if it has anything at all to do with the subject of this board.
