Hi All, I was reading about Herriot-Watt's MBA and DBA and was wondering how many other graduate Degree programs have structures where passing classes is dependant solely on passing specific tests and/or writing a thesis/disertation. I know one can do this for undergraduate degrees, but I don't know any other graduate programs that have this. Any help would be appreciated. Jon
At the Doctoral level, the concept of coursework seems to be uniquely American. It is possible to earn a Ph.D. from U.K., Australian, and South African schools by dissertation/thesis only. I'm sure that the same applies to many other countries, but there are some major examples to start.
