BTW, the Carleton link is quite interesting. Thank you. I couldn't tell for sure, but I don't THINK Carleton has a law school?

About thirty years ago, my undergrad school, St. Martin's College in Washington State, offered law as an undergraduate major. It was a B.S.L., or Bachelor of Science in Law. The catalog page had a disclaimer in BLACK BOLD TYPE stating that this was NOT a professional degree and did not qualify the graduate to take the Bar or practice law.

The B.S.L. looked a LOT like the Carleton BA(hons).

If you really WANT such a degree, it is available D/L through a few California correspondence schools. I don't know of any resident programs remaining.

Carleton does not have a law school and the BA Hons in Law is not a "professional" degree in Canada. Equally, Laurentian University offers a BA in Law and Justice which they specifically state is not intended to qualify the recipient to write any bar exam. My guess is that these degrees would tend to be popular with students hoping to attend law school (noting that a large majority of law students in Canada already hold an undergraduate degree).

If someone does not want to sit for the "BAR" and wants a law degree to enhance their professional career why cant' t that person get an "EJD" and enjoy life?
