Scanned most of the executive summary. My takeaways:

    1. The report makes it clear no relevant decision looks like it was made due to political bias
    2. Mistakes were made during investigation
    3. Nevertheless, decision not to prosecute was justified (report doesn't say it was the only possible decision)
    4. The biggest relevant policy breach was Comey announcing that the investigation is re-opened in late October. This decision benefited Trump.
    5. Strzok and Page are idiots, but are not known to actually change the course of investigation in any way
    6. Bill/Lunch "tarmac summit" was highly inappropriate and may have gotten the whole Comey statements' ball rolling (potentially costing HRC the Presidency). Note how Lynch was concerned the conversation took "way too long". On the face of it, it appears ol' Bill is losing his faculties. Couldn't stop rantin'. I, for one, always told that meeting was extraordinarily stupid, mostly on Bill Clinton's part, but also on Lynch's. Report agrees with me.

Bill Clinton has lost it. Have you heard his recent comments? At least he lost it after leaving office. If we could only be so lucky now.

Sadly, it looks like you're right. On both counts.

The report also included newly found text messages between FBI lawyer Lisa Page and FBI counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok. In a message on Aug. 8, 2016, Page says, Trump's "not ever going to become president, right? Right?!" Strzok replies: "No. No he's not. We'll stop it."

    No political bias?!?!?

    • That was uncovered during the DOJ Clinton-email probe, which was not looking for bias against President Trump.
    • The yet-to-be-released DOJ Trump-Russia probe will focus specifically on bias.
    • Clinton, Comey, Strzok and other political hacks are just the tip of the iceberg. Heads are going to roll.

The report carefully analyzes Strzok's input into the Clinton probe, and found that he didn't make any unilatreral decisions, and often pushed for tougher investigative actions than other agents. No political bias. Being a Liberal and a sloppy government employee is not by itself misconduct. Ironically, if Strzok wanted to prevent Trump presidency, he could have - by leaking the Russian collusion probe; precisely how Comey prevented Clinton presidency. But no, he along with the whole Obama administration practiced the diabolical technique of doing nothing.

The report also makes clear that virtually everyone around Comey believed there is a vast number of FBI employees politically biased against Clinton, and that they act by leaking sensitive grand jury information. This informed many of the more boneheaded moves on FBI part. So yeah, deep state, right?

So, I guess that Comey drafting Hillary's exoneration memo before the investigation was completed, and before she was even interviewed, isn't bias, either?

The FBI has become the enforcement arm of the Democrat Party. Blow it up and start over.

Well, since most of the Republican Party is busy either 1) breaking the law, 2) aiding/abetting lawbreakers or 3) willfully ignoring #'s 1 and 2 I guess the FBI sides with the Dems by default.

That should say "most of the Democratic and Republican Party". Stop playing like only the Republicans are corrupt. One word....hillary.

They're almost all lying, corrupt sh*t-heads, both sides of the party line. I vote for whoever wants to uphold and interpret the Constitution in its original intent. That is about it. And that is mostly a front, since they're almost all sh*t-heads.

Drafting memos based on the best available information is a time management technique. The report we discuss states outright that Clinton email probe was, on the whole, a properly conducted investigation in line with how these kinds of investigations were normally handled. The only loose cannon was Comey himself, and his antics famously harmed the Clinton campaign.
Also, the good chunk of FBI was acting as the intelligence arm of the Republican Party, Trump campaign, and personally Rudy Giuliani. In short, what most progressives already suspect most police forces to be.

FBI/DOJ had more loose cannons than the Spanish Armada. And when was Giuliani FBI?

...except Hillary's corruption is almost entirely fictional. Her biggest unforgivable "sin" is "being in it for herself", i.e. showing ambition. And that's messed up.

OTOH, let me remind you, Trump continues to benefit from foreign interests, was credibly accused of fraud, and never released his tax returns. Also, his former campaign manager is in jail, and his son willingly walked into the meeting with obvious KGB Borys & Natasha eager to be recruited - in all likelihood, with his father's full knowledge. And that's just scratching the surface.

Giuliani is a former criminal prosecutor who has (and boasted about) a lot of "good FBI agents" as friends. Try to keep up.

...one more thing: the cover for Veselnitskaya's recruiting op was talk about "adoptions", a sordid story that involves Vladimir Putin and Russian government taking sick children hostage to protect their corrupt buddies. I wonder if Trump admin didn't learn this technique from the Russians.

And yet, he boasted about his FBI buddies during campaign. According to the report, people within FBI took the threat of anti-Clinton agents' leaking info to the likes of Giuliani seriously.
