That's why I prefer to remain anonymous on the internet, except to a few people. The internet is the sticky-glue of the 21st Century.

    I've met anonymous.

    I knew anonymous.

    I worked with anonymous.

Trust me, me again, you're no anonymous. :D :D :D

(yes, I do know me again's real name, but I'd be dead by the morning if I revealed it)

I suspect that if Rich took one-tenth of what he dished out, that would be a high estimate.

This is not Alice, newly arrived in Wonderland. This is the guy who has spared absolutely no feelings for years, who breaks into tears at the slightest criticism.

Perhaps it would be fine if we did not injure our hands patting Rich on the back for receiving the worst R/A doctorate he could possibly find.

Tireman4 - don't worry about your program being critcized, its from a real school, actually a damn fine school.

Thank you, Dennis, for once again proving that you have no idea what you're talking about. Have you peeked at a.e.d. lately?

Freud would have had a blast with that statement.

    Bruce,
I'm afraid 95% of DegreeInfo members would agree with Dennis.

    That's a typo....it should read "CollegeHints".

That thread is a good example of why I think of college hints as degreeinfo on CRACK. There are a few very rational opinions and bits of info mixed in with a ton of agendas and axe grinding. Dr Duck is the poster child. Any time someone posts something here he doesn't like he retorts with personal attacks and barbs. "By their actions you shall know them."

    Dave,
95% of DegreeInfo members would agree with Dennis and would most certainly disagree with you. You are definitely one of the 5%.

    Dear All,

I emailed a letter to one of the posters on AED. I was just curious as to his educational background and why did he have to be so mean to everyone he is in contact with. That was three days ago...no response. I wonder when he will contact me. I prefaced the letter with no cursing allowed. He can speak to me in terms that I will respond to , not cursing. That doesnt get us anywhere. In the Gourman Report...in Phd granting schools in history there is a number one....and a school that is bringing up last. For me, I will not call the University of North Dakota a terrible RA school. I dont care if the Gourman Report ranked them last. Yes, Princeton was ranked number one...and with good measure. It still takes a ton of work to graduate from either institution. I will not attack Union or Capella or the University of North Dakota. They are all fine institutions of higher learning. You never know where the next great historian will come from. It could be very well Union or UND.

Not likely UND as long as the surly goon who handles history department correspondence is there (Hasenpfeffer or something like that) --DA program notwithstanding. But I see your point.

This is a very good point.

One of the most respected and notable psychiatrists in the field, Harry Stack Sullivan, graduated from the unaccredited Chicago College of Medicine and Surgery, a school some consider to have been a diploma mill and one of the worst medical schools in the country.

Sullivan had no college degree when he entered!

Yet, Sullivan is considered a pioneer in the field of schizophrenia demonstrating remarkable success with his Interpersonal Therapy.

There is nothing on record, that I know of, showing Sullivan harmed any of his patients.

Yet, Sigismund Schlomo Freud, a graduate of the prestigious University of Vienna, is on record of having harmed many of his patients.

Dennis, of course, representing a large portion.

What, besides a personal attack, does this post represent?

It cracks me up to read posts criticizing Union from people like Dennis who attend unaccredited schools.

If Dennis didn't have me to post about, he'd have little to say at all. That's something I'd like to see.

    And you measured this how?

Dennis Ruhl, Neil Hayes, and? An interesting bunch. I would love to see the list of the other 4,000+ that make up the 95%.

You won't get one. The trolls on a.e.d. (quite possibly one person) are sock puppets with fake names and fake e-mail addresses. That speaks volumes about "their" credibility.

Why Thank you Dr. Duck for so brilliantly illustrating my point. Some how I knew you would. Perhaps you would be so kind to share exactly how you polled degreeinfo members to reach this conclusion. In abensence of such information it is clear that you talk out of thin air and your opinions have no merit. Perhaps you work better with ducks than people? :)

Or perhaps this is just indicative of the quality of the research used to earn his 2 Ph.D.'s. Dr. Hayes, you have already expressed that you believe that degreeinfo polls are just as valid as polls using legitimate statistical methods, such as random sampling; and now, in a different argument, you come up with what appears to be a very precise measurement, yet it's quite clear that it was fabricated out of thin air. Did you use similar research methods to collect the data for your dissertation?

I still find it remarkable that you continually criticize RA doctoractes when you are working one which will likely be unaccredited, and at best will be NA, still far below even the worst RA doctorate.

It's like someone who is saving up to buy a Yugo criticizing a Mercedes owner because they drive the worst model of Mercedes.

My 95% was ascertained from the fact that out of the claimed 5,000 members the 'gang of six' are the only ones that ever post on a regular basis, mainly because anyone and everyone else has been subjected to their mindless and obnoxious abuse. So take and 'gang of six', add a few more, and it equals around 5% agreeing with themselves and 95% agreeing with the better informed and better educated members.

Thanks Dr Duck! So you are admitting your facts are made up with no evidence and are at best unsubstantiated opinion. Yet you characterize them as fact when they clearly aren't.
