Their own website says they are $675 per three-credit course. That computes to $225/hour. Their MBA degree is a 42 hour program (assuming you need no pre-requesites).

    $225/hr. x 42 hrs. = $9,450

And, if you need the pre-reqs, that's an additional 12 hours.

    $225/ hr. x 54 hrs. = $12,150

Hi Terry - Of course, you're right. I don't keep up that well it seems. I suppose they found it wasn't worth it.

UNISA was accredited by the DETC up until March of this year. I suspect, although I don't know for certain, that UNISA viewed DETC accreditation as a way of breaking in to the U.S. distance learning market. They probably realized they did not need DETC accreditation to do so.

I have been interested in an MBA for some time, even though I am still working on my associate degree (I have about 90 credits in communications right now, but working toward a marketing degree). Aspen University, which has that great $4,500 deal, was looking like an option for me because there was a time when it did not require a BA or BS as a prerequisite to enrollment. Of course, there is always Heriot Watt, which also does not require an undergrad. Despite the declining value of the dollar, an MBA at Heriot Watt can still be done for about $14,500.

In Oklahoma, Cameron University offers an online MBA for $8,750 (I believe that price is good for non-residents, too). The bottom line is you won't save a lot of money going with an ACICS or DETC accredited MBA when there are many RA accredited options which are the same price or cheaper.

I'm not sure how important the U.S. market is to them considering that they're so amazingly inexpensive that the South African government is subsidizing all students, even those who pay the international student fee. Besides, as a SAQA-approved member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities they're easily the equivalent of regionally accredited.

South Africa: Still the best higher education value on the planet.

Aspen just raised their graduate tuition to $300/hr ($900/course).

BTW, I am in the MEd program at Aspen, and I while I have seen a reference to lecture notes on the Aspen Univ., my first course did not require this.

P.S. I enrolled in the Aspen MEd program back in April of this year, when the upfront tuition for the entire tuition was going for $3000! Now that's a bargain!

I seem to have missed a few DETC MBA degrees when I drew up my original list.

    Grantham University www.grantham.edu $335/hr. x 36 hrs. = $12,060 (1 course at a time); $265/hr. x 36 hrs. = $9,540 (2 or more courses at a time); $250/hr. x 36 hrs. = $9,000 (military rate)
    IMPAC University www.impacu.edu $420/hr. x 48 hrs. = $20,160
Lansbridge University www.lansbridge.edu for regular MBA: $18,000 CDN for Canadians and $18,000 USA for non-Canadians; for executive MBA: $19,500 CDN for Canadians and $19,500 USA for non-Canadians

I was looking at and Amberton University claim their MBA is a 36 hour requirement, on their website, for all three of the there concentrations.
    225/ hr x 36hrs. = $8100

This is still over the price quoted at geteducated.com. I wonder were they came up with the $7200 figure(maybe a price increase since the stated prices?).

The $7200 was based on $200/hr. tuition, but that has been raised to $225/hr. now. The MBA in Management does require 42 hrs. plus up to 12 hrs. pre-reqs. That having been said, the MBA in General Business and the MBA in Strategic Leadership are 36 hrs. plus up to 12 hrs. pre-reqs.
