    Re: What About UNISA?

UNISAs doctorate programs are not covered by DETC accreditation. UNISA and the Aussie schools that have DETC accreditation are also "accredited" in whatever fashion their respective governments require. So, an MSc from Unisa would be DETC accredited, and a DComm, not. It hardly matters, since SA and Australian standards are the equivalent of US RA anyway.

I have no idea what motivated these schools to obtain DETC accreditation.

Don't need to, you've done the leg work. Thanks.

It's usual protocol to cite sources, as I did with Dr. Barcroft, when making such bold statements.

"BOLD STATEMENTS"? I don't think so. Rich Douglas had already posted information regarding DETC and CCU and I merely followed up with DETC and obtained additional data.

However, if you wish to know the source of information that is perfectly fine. Just ask for it politely especially when I or another poster are in fact dong the "leg work" for you! No more, no less.

I'm late on this but...I don't know that a DETC Doctorate would be met with all of the resistance that some of you think it will be. In Tx, you can go before the board for LPC with an "accredited" degree (recognized by the DOE) but for LMFT your school has to be RA. In Oklhoma, it's the exact opposite.
I'm still working on my undergrad but I'm making preparations for my internship already. The counselors and Psychologists that I've been talking to have been extremely accepting even though some of you don't think that N/A schools are "up to snuff". Some of them have even floated by me the idea of me going into practice with them once I graduate. I've gotten pretty good responses.

Oh and as far as CCU being a candidate, if I were a betting man, I'd put my money on what they say concerning the pilot program. That's just been my experience with them.
