In which states? I could've sworn that New York State, for example, has a strict physical classroom based requirement, with the exception that LPN's are allowed to earn the RN by distance. However, the LPN cannot be done by distance in any state that I'm aware of.

There are some things that can obviously be done by distance and other things that have to be done in-person. Any sort of education that involves injecting, cutting, wound dressing, blood-drawing, etc. should obviously be done in-person, no exceptions. Other things that simply require memorization can be done online. It will happen eventually. PA education being online now is sort of a test to that possibility.

I haven't heard of any state that doesn't accept UT Arlington and Texas A&M Corpus Christi's programs, but I haven't really looked into it. These programs don't require you to be an LVN. There are still many states that accept Excelsior's program, which is highly non-traditional, but you now have to be an LVN, paramedic, or military medic to be admitted.

Well, at least one US-recognized accreditor did - ACICS - but then they got it back, for a while, at least. I guess Americans can thank Betsy DeVos and the Trump administration for that.
