While not absolutely disagreeing with either of you, the argument seems to be along the lines of what you both personally would like to see, and that is fine as far as it goes. I believe various posters have pointed out in this and other topics a couple of reasons why a school would allow an unaccredited degree to be listed. My point is any smart organization would and should hire the most qualified applicant. While a PhD, even if not required, would make a person more qualified in the educational area, it is not and should not be the only judged criteria. I believe that we all agree on that.

So what should i conclude in two sentences about argosy having CCU PhD's and DBA's to teach RA level courses?

First of all, the courses they are teaching do not require a doctorate, only a masters degree. Also, who knows, they may have learned something from their unaccredited doctorates which, along with their experience, has been judged by their employer to uniquely qualify them over the likely many other applicants.

It is helpful to know one's history before jumping to such a conclusion.

IIAS was founded, and run from, Missouri by one Alexander Niven, a community college professor. The school, always unaccredited, awarded master's and doctoral degrees during the 1970's and 1980's. When its founder fell ill, ownership was transferred (the school was quite small), and became part of the larger effort that eventually became Greenwich University in Hawaii. I do not know if it is a functioning part of that school any more.

My recollection was that it was a sincere school.

I would really hesitae to join a University which openly reports Unaccredited degree holding Faculties on their roll.

Typically what seems to happen is that the teacher in question has given this information to some administrative person for the explicit purpose of posting it on the web. It generally doesn't seem to be placed there based on the resume used to get the job. When the RA school is questioned on this what usually happens is that reference to the unaccredited degree is then removed.

I agree with you, though. If there was more than one or two listed I would be hesitant to pursue a degree there.

As is certainly your right to do. However, it narrows your opportunities considerably, especially in distance learning, were you to actually employ this strategy. Also, you might pass up a better opportunity for a worse one because of a criterion that has no impact on your education and/or degree.

Alright, you can do what you want.. DONT go to Argosy. It seems like the most popular answer on WHY this guy is on the roll w/ an UNaccredited degree is simply because he was already QUALIFIED for the position before his DBA from CCU! Perhaps, he has a Masters degree from Harvard or something..

Just because They have him listed w/ a DBA from CCU doesnt mean that he is teaching at unaccredited quality teaching. OK, perhaps it was bad form to let him list that degree on the roll in the first place (maybe they did it to have him blend in better w/ the other PHD's and DBA's), however, I do not think this makes the school bad. Find an instructor w/ and unaccredited Masters or Bachelors and then it might be a different story!
