Stats on graduation rates and median debt are useful! I have to admit, having difficulty trying to interpret the significance of the NPV metric (time value of money) and how it compares to other school rankings.

Because so many participants here earn degrees from processes rather detached from the issuing schools, it might be worth considering the impact of the relationships built during the on-campus experience at private schools--and the demographics of those participants--beyond the efficacy of the education received or the reputation of the schools.

Also, the educational and work force scenes were very different 40 years ago than they are today, so any conclusions drawn from all that data need a lot of shoehorning in order to create projections for current or future students.

Then there's the matter of barriers to entry, as there are with any investment. Maybe I could get a better return on my money if I spend $50k than $10k (whether on tuition, stocks, real estate, anything), but if I don't have $50k, I can't make that investment and would still be better off in the long run taking whatever opportunity I have available at the time.

There are a lot of confounding variables! I noticed a smaller school that that has a graduation rate of 23% but a larger, well renowned school in the town nextdoor with a graduation rate of 80%. The fact is, many students go to the smaller school to take general education requirements at a lower cost/easier curriculum and transfer to the "Big" school to finish their degree.

There is data in the report that goes back a decade and 20 years, 30 and 40. So educational and workforce scenes were very different 40 years and gradually changing each decade.
I find the report interesting and useful tool.

I made over $1 million in the last five years. So, the research seems to be off.

Why do you think so? There may be individuals who made more than you but this is not about one or two graduates or 10 graduates.

I'm guessing that you know enough about statistics to know that's not really true.
