I'm not dissing Ashworth here - never would. Delivering what they deliver - at their price-point - is answering a great need.

I did note that entrance into this Honour Society (excuse my Brit-and-Canadian spelling) was also available to Career Diploma and James Madison High grads who met the 3.0 GPA requirement. Isn't this a little unusual, or do other US schools' non-degree shorter-duration career diplomas admit the holders to Honour Societies?

Not saying I'm against it, if they do. Great selling point, for sure. Just asking...

I looked it up a bit...

Hi - can't (yet) find any other Delta Epsilon Tau schools that award for non-degree programs. Guess the school's local chapter has some latitude. It doesn't appear that the society itself maintains a website, though its Millville DE home office has an e-mail address.

As you might deduce from the letters, Delta Epsilon Tau was created by DETC. It currently serves 14 Universities and 33 Colleges. Rules for eligibility vary somewhat by chapter. I saw GPA requirements as high as 3.90.

I could find VERY few (so far only one other) D.E.T. chaptered schools that even offer any non-degree programs. I DID find Penn Foster - and their site is very specific. D.E.T. membership ONLY for qualified grads of Associate or Bachelor programs. No undergrad or career certificates.

Ashworth MAY be unique in this regard - I'm not sure yet.

Checked a DETC school, Columbia Southern, which also deals in undergrad certs. Clearly states - D.E.T. Honors awarded only to qualifying Bachelors and Masters grads - not for Associate degree or certificate grads. Looks more and more like all Chapters may have different rules and generally not as liberal as Ashworth's. Perfectly OK, as I see it.
