I dont really think Bush is any more or less dirty than any of the previous 6 or 7 administrations except maybe Carter who wasnt a good president because he didnt have a sharp edge. Nobody was dirtier than Bill and Hill, Alot of the family issues people have with W they had with his dad, Ronnie was...well Ronnie. Carter was...well ill just say inept but I think the man has a good heart. Ford we Nixons croney, Nixon WAS a crook. Lbj? Ok, we will skip the conspiracies and hang our hats on Bell Helicopter. Kennendy/mafia...Whats the difference???

So corruption isnt anything new. My only question is this, if he is so dirty why hasnt there been investigations. The press hound them like mad and they consistantly come up empty. I hear thing online, but as with conservative and liberal Blog-esh "news" I never see it in WSJ or NYTs...The "mainstream" voices of the right and left. You cant really buy anything from the clowns at Moveon.org. They are not journalist. The people that are journalist are barely qualify now. I mean has anyone ever read the crap out there about Clinton? Or Regan? Is it all true? Could be. Will anything ever come of most of it? Probably not.

I think people on both sides with VERY strong feeling should be careful that there anger and/or hate for a politician doesnt allow someone else to control them. The only time I have seen people hate a president like people do now was....well 6 years ago.

To quote a muppet " Anger, Hatred..umm...Lead to the Dark Side they do....Umm."

    Just my thoughts....

No, or they'd have kept the Articles of Confederation.

    Reality

Dear Friends, I think the Quote, "All Power comes from the barrel of a Gun" describes what everyone here REALLY is talking about...anyone been to other countries? Better get used to it, All politics are about domination of the resources, Yours Truly, Nikolas Horthy

  5. We have not yet begun to fight....

Not to disappoint those who will find my straying from the typical liberal line disheartening, but the post above is precisely why we aren't winning the war on terror.

Listen. These scumbags across the earth who hide behind the Islamic religion know only one thing - force and might, and the fear that comes from absolute domination by a stronger force. The U.S. has pussyfooted around too much with "rules of engagement" and worrying about collateral damage. We need to take the war to the very heart of where these folks live, and let them experience true domination by a superpower. If the U.S. chose to unleash its full military capabilities, not a fly would be left alive in the Middle East - that is how great our power is.

Which of you can say that our despicable Islamic enemies would spare our own U.S. citizens and soil if they had the nuclear might and military power that we have, so humanely held in check by our values, beliefs, and sensibilities?

No. It isn't the U.S. that is the "bad guy" here - we have barely scratched the surface of the pain and hurt we can inflict on that entire region should this whole thing escalate. And my prediction is that it will. There is no choice. It is US or THEM. And I'm not about to get used to forcing my daughter to wear a burkha and start praying on my knees to a hateful vengeance filled god five times a day.....

I would far rather than our good God, and our good people, and our good society absolutely devastate and destroy the Islamic world and its hateful legacy of racism, repression, oppression, and fanaticism once and for all.... Truly, that is the meaning of the new Millenium - a dawning of a better day for the entire world, minus one religion.

If I might gently try to move this thread back on topic...
If we are going to define "partisan politics" as "loyalty to the party supercedes loyalty to ideas" then I would suggest that it is not good for the country. However, we haven't really defined this term (I know, it can be so boring when it comes down to semantics, but after all, words are all we have).
