    If you want to work as an RN in California with Excelsior degree, after you receive your AA, you may apply to a Nurse Practitioner (RNP) or BSN program at a B&M school. A friend of mine states CSUDH will accept Excelsior credits for their program but other universities will not.

    Once you have your RN, no one really cares what school you graduated from because there is such a severe shortage of nurses. I receive several solicitations each week from hospitals across the country promising a large sign-on bonus.

    After 20 years in the medical field, I am leaving at the end of next month to begin a new career teaching high school. Nursing is a physcially demanding and dirty job with little recognition--that goes to the MD's who may see a patient for just a few minutes.
