That's the first Dominion Voting Systems defamation suit over. Another case against Fox, from Smartmatic, and several more suits from Dominion remain to be heard. I think the plaintiffs will probably do OK.

    From CNN:

"While the Dominion case is now over, Fox News is still facing a second major defamation lawsuit from Smartmatic, another voting technology company that was similarly smeared on Fox News’ shows after the 2020 election. That case is still in the discovery process, and a trial isn’t expected anytime soon.

For its part, Dominion still has pending lawsuits against right-wing TV networks Newsmax and OAN, as well as against Trump allies Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell and Mike Lindell. They all deny wrongdoing."

    It's all here: https://www.cnn.com/2023/04/18/media/fox-dominion-settlement/index.html

I was watching the bleeding at Fox, wondering why they wouldn't settle. I mean, they were dead in the water, and going to trial only triggered a bloody discovery. But....

It appears Dominion didn't want to settle. I think Dominion knows that this isn't just about money, that they needed to recapture as much of their reputation as possible, and that was only going to happen if the public could see what Fox did, hear Fox admit its wrong-doing, and see the size of the judgment.

The only things left would be awful testimony, a bigger judgment, and (possibly) punitive damages. It seems like Dominion was fine to stop here, though. Fox should count its angels.
