well, you'll never succeed with a defeatist attitude like that. Are you a CANadian or a CAN'Tadian?

I'm a realist. Read up on Casley before you razz/slag me. Maybe then you'll understand the difference between his efforts and a cereal-box. Or maybe not.

To be fair, I think quite a few of the universities - Southern Pacific University, Gordon University, etc - and a number of offshore companies were registered during the time when Sir Geoffrey Taylor was the Principality's Registrar of Companies. The civil was, or whatever it was, in Hutt Rivern had a profound impact on its higher education system: Weston Reserve University did hang on for a while but today, there's only the Royal College of Heraldry. Today, Southern Pacific University is in St Kitts & Nevis, Delaware and Belize and Gordon University has ceased to exist.

Have I really used the titles like Dr. or Lord... if no, then there's no way saying I am trying to look important or pretentious, :).

Lol, no need, I buy it for fun. Bored, so I go google search all kinds of funny stuffs, bought one at blackwoods, seemed "good" to help conserve that land with some history behind, but does it really go into land conservation with the money I am not sure.

Actually, to be frank, I am still quite frustrated as I do not get any form of minor refund by quiting the programme from SMC within weeks. I also don't know whether the money is went to support them marking people down while people voice out about their delayed and/or lack of communication issues on their side.

It could be subjective, your experience with them may be different, but mine is certainly not a pleasant one. As a consumer, I will certainly file some complaints online because I received back teaching services and I predicted I will lose the deposits. Anyway, I also feel that it is good for other people to know that they may face these kind of challenges while enrolling with SMC University, so they know what to expect. The SMC University discussion forum do also have quite a few complaints from other students regarding their delay in communication with professor. Marking people down after some feedback as the student do not know where to begin, is certainly not acceptable to me.

Blackwood, yeah that place is certainly infested with Lairds. If they sent you a coat of arms, don't use it in Scotland.

Oh I'm very familiar with Casley. I was just giving you a bit of a ribbing because I have faith that you could have done more with than one square inch than Casley did with his 9,900 acres.

I'd also like to point out that there is a very obvious joke floating in the air right now but I'm going to take the high road.

Good idea, because Blackwood, Lanarkshire is along the other road.

Good idea. I took extreme exception to your neologism, "CAN'Tadian." We have no such person in this country - it sounds awful - like a term Donald Trump might invent. I don't enjoy imagining what might happen in this forum if I used the term "AmeriCAN'T" - something I would never do.

In another degree-forum, I was termed "a nutless Canadian retard with no gun." Water off a duck's back. I didn't even bother replying.
Another poster elsewhere wrote that I was "a scumbag, hiding in Canada..." I can disregard that easily - hell, I'm not even a member over there. Never posted in that forum in my life.

However, I draw the line at your "CAN'Tadian" suggestion.

It's not a new joke. An "ugly American" character in "Once Upon a Time in Mexico" uses a similar formulation, asking the protagonist whether he's a "Mexican or a Mexican't" when he raises reasonable objections to a plan.

Relax, those lairds won't be living there. I am more interested in Blackwood History (one of the better one) when I bought it. Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackwood,_South_Lanarkshire , last time their website have a detailed history.

While Scottish Highland Titles, fake or real, may be prestigious, what you have is - geographically - a Lowland something. Here's some info about what is and what is not:

Highland Titles - Fact From Fiction | Fake Scots Titles

And again, if they sent you one, don't use the Coat of Arms in Scotland.

I'm sorry you were offended. It was a lighthearted jab playing heavily upon a movie reference that, apparently, only Steve picked up on. I don't have an issue with Canadians and have seriously considered (and still mull over the possibility) of moving north of the border, myself.

I like movies. I like quoting movies. And, were I a real tool, I would probably insert a "Lighten up, Frances" meme here right now.

So am I. My mistake -obviously your intentions were good. Sorry I got my back up - obviously for no good reason.

Nothing wrong with that. I would have liked this one, probably. Anything with Salma Hayek is fine with me. She's another of my "celebrity crushes."

City winters suck - but hey, we've got free healthcare. All things considered, I think it's a great place to live - and very welcoming to newcomers.

    Again - sorry I misunderstood.

In fairness, it's kind of HR 101 to not jab at someone's nationality...

That's true. But think about how boring the world would be were we held to HR standards outside the workplace!

I believe such places are called "prisons" and they are, indeed, rather bleak (outside of Scandinavia).
