    The fact that Manning has been given time to think about it suggests a possibility of a return, which I'm against. He has nothing left, and has honestly been out of gas since the last 6 games (playoff included) of LAST season. If he does decide to keep playing, I can't see it happening in Denver. I keep having this feeling that he's going to wind up in Houston, the team that he was all but set to go to before Denver made a strong final play to get him. Houston is a playoff team without a QB, and even an out-of-gas Manning is a better option than the bums they currently have now.

    As for the game itself, it was just a poorly played game. I don't say that because it was largely defensive as I find defensive games to be entertaining. It was just the wide-open dropped passes, the fumbling by players who rarely fumble, the poor pursuit angles defenses took on rushes at times (mostly on Carolina's side), the wild throws both QB's took even when not being pressured, the high amount of penalties. It was brutal. It looked more like a preseason game between two backups squads who hadn't practiced together much.

    My hope is that Manning was being gracious about his (probable) retirement and didn't want to make an announcement that would potentially overshadow the Broncos victory.

    It fits with his team-first mentality.

    I totally agree with you on this. He's such a selfless guy, at least from what I know, and he deserves to go out on a good note.

    Surely you jest?

    Manning has always demanded maximum money, he's refused to restructure his contract or take less in order to give more salary cap room to sign other players. He also loves to throw his teammates under the bus when things don't go his way;

    Manning was a great QB, but it's always been about him, not the team.

    Manning restructured his contract as recently as 2015 to free up cap space.
