Capella is not a real academic institution. I have a PhD in Professional Counseling from Capella and based upon the work, the required seminars, and two weeks in Minneapolis it surely seemed to be a "real academic" institution to me. But what would I know? I have the MBA from a state school, the MS in psychology from a state school, a BS in Accounting from a state school, the Masters in English from a state school, and the MA in Counseling from Liberty. The work was, at least, as difficult as any of the above, with maybe, the exception being the MBA. If you have attended Capella we can discuss what I experienced vis a vi what you experienced. If you have not been to Capella - well, that pretty well settles it, does it not?

If you don't understand that all universities are businesses then you know less than you think you know. You are welcome to express your opinion but if you can't do that respectfully then you are less than welcome. Make a decision to make a change.

In other words, shut your pie hole unless you know what you are talking about :nono:

Do you care to offer any research that supports your claim, or is this just your own moronic opinion?

Meaningless when it comes to hiring.

Uh, no. Inless this is the thread for people who only want to talk about how great certain programs are without letting all of us know what those programs have done for them in real life settings, aka jobs/ hiring.

Please let us know; enlighten us. That will be the real test, not just talk. Let us know what you did with your degrees from Capella, Northcentral, Walden U, etc.

Yeah, the proof is on you. Tell me what a Capella degree has done for you in terms of securing a job after you finished. And, uh, be honest please.

I know for a fact that any BAM univwersity will never hire you for a teaching job when you tell them that your 'doctorate' is from Capella. That's it.

    respectful not much

I see being respectful only applies to participants; not to moderators, huh? !

Well, I know for a fact that is not true. There are people on this board with a PhD from Capella that teach at a B&M.

BTW - my university is ABSCP accredited.

Here's a few more for you:

BTW - GCTC has about 3500 students

Dr. Vickie S. Cook , Dean of School of Education/Director of Online Learning - Greenville College :: Christian College in Illinois

BTW - I know the two people who are administrators at the schools that I posted links to.

I could go on and go to Capella's LinkedIn Group, etc. and find more examples, but I've proved my point.

Disrespect breeds disrespect. The university professors with Capella degrees who are long time members here would not consider your remarks to be respectful. Got my finger on the button for banning pfolman as a troll.

Why don't you live by what you preach? Are you a hippocrit?

I don't care about your finger. If you can't deal with critical people your blog is just a self glorifying nothing instead of a real discussion. I guess that's where I arrived. and I am already tired of it. So, serve yourself but not the people who look for real answers.

However, you came to this board with inflammatory and false statements about several universities, with zero evidence to support your claims. Capella University is a quality educational institution, and there are many people who have jobs after earning their degree from Capella, myself included.

I'll let one of the mods discuss how many people come to this discussion board and have found answers, debated accreditation, school quality, etc. But in the meantime, as my mother used to say, "If you can't say something nice, don't say it at all."
