My Excelsior diploma was sitting on my doorstep when I got home this afternoon. I received an Associate of Science in Liberal Studies. I was surprised by how nice the diploma looked. It's not in gothic script, but otherwise, I have no complaints. It is housed in a nice leather bound case. Very classy.

I am already pursuing my 2nd degre; a B.S. in Behavioral Science from Bellevue University. I am taking my 2nd class now, and so far I am loving it. After I graduate next year, I plan to continue my education by pursuing a masters in psych and then hopefully I will wrap it all up with a Phd. Or, I might just continue with a 2nd masters in linguistics or public health (too many interests = a lack of focus!).

I want to thank everyone on this forum for providing me with thoughtful advice, suggestions and encouragement over the years. I hope to return the favor for others.

    Cheers!

Like the first kiss and the first, well, other stuff, the first college diploma remains the most memorable for many people. Congratulations.

Congratulations! There is no better feeling after months or years of work to earn a degree than to actually hold it in your hands.

As Dr Bear said, you won't forget your first one, and it should be special. But it's like the first "hit".......intoxicating and drives you on to more! What do you think of Bellevue so far?

It seems like a school offering a distance program that doesn't get mentioned as often as the "big three", but still garners favorable reviews from it's students. I'm curious as to what a new enrollee shifting from one of the "big three" thinks in comparison?

Thanks for all of the kind comments. I greatly appreciate it. :)

D.Paul - I am very pleased with Bellevue. I've had the same professor for both of my classes and she is great. There have been some minor technology blips, but nothing out of the ordinary for LMS's. I am taking an accelerated major, which means I will be finished with my major at the end of this year.

I will keep everyone posted with my Bellevue experience.

    Best,

    John,

I agree. I will probably remember this day for the rest of my life. I started on my college journey back in 1994. While there were a number of long gaps between schools, it took me until now to finish up my A.S.

Yes, I still remember those other events as well! Her name was Heather. I was only five and she was seven. We kissed in her bedroom closet. I guess I still have a thing for older women, as my fiancée is six days older than me! ;)
