Congratulations Han. It's a great accomplishment. While I'm sure it was an arduous period, four years is actually pretty speedy, all things considered. Best of luck with your publications.

Congratulations, indeed. As the popular T-shirt sold in Berkeley (and presumably many other places) says,

    PhinisheD!!!

Would you be willing to give folks a brief recap on:

    Why Grenoble
    Admissions Process
    Costs
    Academic Process
    Residencies (?)
    Coursework (?)
The "Big Book" or "Little Book" version of the dissertation you had to do.

Thanks, and congratulations on a very fine accomplishment!

    Congratulations, Han!

You will now need a vacation from Journal articles and academic writing (pseudo-scientific writing ).

Once you recover you can then go out there and touch some lives by BEING a "LIFE-CHANGER" beyond your material you try to impart.

    a. That was not helpful.

    b. Whatever is on their site, it's not the same as coming from someone who's experienced it.

    c. Several of my questions would elicit a personal viewpoint not found on a school's website.

I'll look forward to information coming from the source, thanks.

Sorry about that. I just wanted to point out that the program was on the Grenoble website. The website has been recently updated.

From the Grenoble and Newcastle websites, I gather the following. The "Why Grenoble?" question could be answered by pointing out that Grenoble is one of the few universities in the world holding business accreditation from AACSB, AMBA, and EQUIS. Admission requires a master's qualification in management from a recognized institution plus three years management experience with English language competency. Applications should be received by late June and program intake is in October. Costs (year one) were 6920 GBP ($13,860.37US) for 2006 entrants with a five-year total cost of 37,500 Euros ($51,022.50US). Considering that the program has a two-year coursework phase and a three-year dissertation phase, that would be $27,720.74 ($13,860.37 x 2) for the coursework phase, leaving $23,301.76 ($51,022.50 - $27,720.74) for the dissertation phase, or $7,767.25 a year ($23,301.76/3), assuming relatively stable tuition costs and exchange rates. The program includes a two-year part-time coursework phase, which includes four research training workshops, delivered in one-week blocks, in Theory & Research in Management of Technology, Innovation, and Organizational Change. Out of the coursework phase should arise the Literature Review (7500 words), the Pilot Project Report (7500 words), and the DBA Research Plan. The dissertation phase is three years part-time and results in an 80,000 word dissertation. There will be annual dissertation progress reports each September and an oral exam.
