I find it intriguing that no unaccredited DL schools were mentioned. Is that due to there being nothing new in that arena, or that reasonable posters (except one) just don't consider them? I suspect a healthy dose of both.

I thought only accredited schools would make it to the book anyway. No point in trying to include phony schools or schools least likely to be recognized by employers or other schools (which would be the primary purpose of someone buying that book anyway....to further their careers).

Quite the opposite, in fact. Bears' Guides have for decades been the most reliable source of information regarding unaccredited schools and diploma mills.

    Bump.

Last chance to comment on new programs. My deadline is fast approaching, but often you all hear about new programs before it's in the press.

Unless I missed it while glancing down through these entries of new programs, nobody has mentioned Northcentral University yet. This was not offered as an option for earning a Doctorate Degree in the 15th Edition book. I purchased the book but my continuous search online led me to the program that suits my needs better than any listed in the 15th Edition book. I checked out some of the foreign options but did not get answers to my email, or when I did, it was apparent there was a huge culture/language barrier so I was very happy to find NCU's program which is also in the low 20's for the cost of a doctorate if you prepay, or mid 20's if you choose a payment plan. I have been curious to hear more from those who have had success with the foreign options because it sounds like some have been successful. Anyway, NCU added Education to their options at the very end of 2004 and it should be listed in the new book.

Actually, NCU was in BG 15. It was just that it was still living in the unaccredited section back then (2003). Taft also moves from unaccredited to accredited.

Gosh! Don't forget Iowa State University's short residency PhD in Hotel & Restaurant Management! Even if it is a good excuse for cheap food-service laborers in the Summer Term.
