Interesting information: Patten University is a private, non-profit university affiliated with the Patten Educational Foundation (“PEF”) and accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission. The university was previously named American Graduate University, and is separate from the defunct institution named “Patten University” founded by PEF that operated until 2020. https://www.patten.edu/
Heh. Same Patten name, same logo, same city, same street address, same web address, same top executive. American Graduate University's site and application page are still open for now at least.
I saw the prices, looks unlikely. Although in fairness, the pricing model the school had before probably contributed to the demise of its first iteration. Probably best to not repeat that.
I wonder by what criteria they are making that distinction - or maybe it doesn't matter to DEAC. A legally distinct corporate entity would not cut it for me.
Yeah, it's a little bit odd in the way it's being presented. Hopefully everyone knows what they're doing. I'd hate to see students caught up in another closure.
Indeed. Whole effort seems pointless. If I were looking for a business Master's - this would actively turn me off -especially if I knew the history.
American Graduate University has been in operation for nearly 50 years. I'm not sure how that constitutes "more MBA and similar programs" since they were operating back when getting an MBA by DL was nearly impossible.
This is a reincarnation of Patten University using an existing school. Patten has already failed multiple times.
Didn't you see the motto? - It's above the front door. "Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch'intrate." (Abandon hope, all ye who enter here.) From Study.com: https://study.com/academy/lesson/dantes-inferno-quotes-about-hell.html
