That's exactly what it is.

 

I tried to sign up but it seems that this promotion is only meant for students from US and Canada. Once i added my email, it goes to this registration page and there's this required column i must fill up (US State/ CA Province), but no other countries. Sigh...

 

Zero Tuition... really!

My name is Jarrod Morgan and I am a member of the staff here at Andrew Jackson University. I'm glad to see you guys came across our new sponsored tuition program. We have only "soft launched" it; meaning we haven't actually advertised it yet. The fact that you guys are talking about it shows how fast word can travel about something this revolutionary. I thought I would join the conversation, seeing as there are some questions about how this works.

*Friendorfoe: You are correct. The $400 fee is per SEMESTER, not per month.

*Our marketing partners allow us to offer zero tuition by eliminating the cost it takes to acquire new enrollments. We pass those savings along to our students. The three partner offers we have on the partners.aju.edu page do not require any money.

*Peace123: You are absolutely right! We are proudly accredited by the DETC and have been for over 10 years.

*Bamafan… We love our fellow Birmingham residents! We are located a little over a mile from the Galleria Mall in Hoover, on John Hawkins Parkway just before you get to Walmart. Thanks for joining the conversation! I do have a couple of questions and one note:

1. Does the $400 per semester fee apply to undergraduate programs as well, or is there a different fee?
2. How do I go about getting a credit evaluation for courses I have already taken?
(OK, one more question)
3. If I'm interested in enrolling, how is the tuition discount noted on the enrollment form (if I enroll online)

Also, after reading Kozen's post, I did go to the PupilCity.com link on the AJU site, and indeed one is only able to enter address information for the US or Canada on the online form.

Let's see if I can help...

1. The semester fee for undergraduate programs is only $350. See our fees page: http://www.aju.edu/Admissions/admis_fees.asp .

2. Credit evaluations are done during the application process. Once you apply, you will be connected with an Admissions Representative, who will help you get your credit evaluation done. It's a pretty quick process, and we only need unofficial transcripts to get you an evaluation (official transcripts are needed after you enroll). Send an email to Tammy Kassner, the Director of Admissions, and she will explain this to you a little more better than I can ([email protected]).

3. The zero tuition amount will be clearly stated on your enrollment agreement. All enrollment agreements are emailed in pdf format for you to fill out and send back. You will receive a signed, fully-executed copy in the mail after you enroll.

Does that all make sense?

 

So how many classes at a time can an undergraduate take on at once?

Yes, and also where on the AJU website is there a description of the delivery mode of classes? In other words, how many lessons per class, how many tests, etc.

Hey friendorfoe! Undergrads can take up to four courses per semester, and grad students can take up to three.

jek2839 (and everyone else looking for the catalog), the 2008 AJU catalog is available here: http://www.aju.edu/Admissions/admis_catalog.asp. It was just re-released this morning, after it was updated to reflect our new program.

TEKMAN... yes, we have students using MGI benefits for this program.

Kozen, I would suggest emailing Tammy at [email protected] (tell her I sent you!) so you can go ahead and get started. I will see what I can do to correct that issue, but I don't want it to hold you up.

 

I have looked thru the AJU 2008 Catalogue and it seems like the amount we have to pay is not US$400/semester for Graduate program if we took part in the Sponsored Tuition Plan. But it's still a good deal for us.

First Semester for Graduate (Based on 3 semester hour courses);
One Course: $555
Two Courses: $585
Three Courses: $615

Subsequent Semester for Graduate;
One Course: $430
Two Courses: $460
Three Courses: $490

Based on that, it will be cheaper after 1st semester onwards. So the total fee we pay will be Courses + Books + Final Exam. Correct me if i'm wrong.

You guys are correct to point out the difference in the semester costs.

The first semester cost takes into account the following (for graduate students):

$400 (semester fee) + $125 Enrollment Fee + $30 (proctoring fee for one course) = $555

Please note: the Enrollment Fee is a one-time fee upon entry into the university. You only pay that in the first semester.

ALSO NOTE: Each course carries a $30 proctoring fee. We use webcams so that you can take your exams in the comfort of your home while connected to a AJU proctor online. So if you take three courses in your second semester, it would look like this:

$400 (semester fee) + $90 (per-course proctoring fee of $30 x 3 courses) = $490 (notice: no Enrollment fee in the second semester)

Make sense?

Also, as you can imagine, the response to this program is generating a great deal of phone calls and emails. I just spoke with Admissions, and they advised me that they will be in touch with all of you very shortly. In the meantime, I am more than happy to answer questions here!

Hey Tom,

I am sure you saw our AS in Psychology Program on aju.edu. If this new tuition sponsorship program takes off and enrollments increase, then we will start adding new degree programs regularly. At this point, there are no specific plans to add a Psychology Bachelor's program, but that can change.

 

I received prompt responses to my emails from AJU today, which scores points in my book. Even with the extra fees, that's still a great deal, especially if you take four courses per semester (for undergraduate programs). I'm in the process of getting my transcripts together for a credit evaluation at AJU.

 

I also got very prompt responses from AJU today. I'm finishing up a BA at Bellevue and asked AJU if they would allow me to enroll in the MBA program on a probational basis while I completed the BA. Unfortunately, the answer was no.
