    Trudy,
It is truly incredible that you are claiming to be a spokewoman for God and at the same time have no shame in touting your completely fake degrees and credentials as genuine. Have you ever heard the term "ethics"?

You are just another con artist playing on people's emotions and ignorance.

    Hi Donna/Jimmy,
Why are you shocked that your dishonesty has been made public? You run a fake denomination, run by fake ministers, with fake credentials -- what do you expect?

And Jimmy/Donna, I am a minister in the Christian Churches. The degree mill that you linked to (which as far as degree mills go -- is more "respectable" than the one you run) is run by a church of Christ minister. It is not a Bible College or Seminary run by the Churches of Christ or Christian Churches.

The real schools of the Church of Christ/Christian Churches would include Pepperdine University, Cincinnati Bible College and Seminary, Hope International University, Johnson Bible College, Lincoln College and Seminary, etc...and so forth.

What would be really refreshing is if you would come on this board and repent for representing yourself as something you are not instead of defending your unethical practices.

So the individual that wanted to get a free degree mill diploma was referred to St. Paul Christian College? Coincidentally, this is the same school as the School for Christian Ministry, the same school that Jimmy merged his degree mill (Barton Stone Divinity School) with, the same school on whose board of directors Jimmy sits, the same school of which he is the Chair of the Department of Psychology/Social Science, the same school that awarded Jimmy a DSW…
So what is it? First you state that Jimmy never gave out any free degrees, then you claim that those seeking those degrees were referred to the school that Jimmy merged his degree mill with, and then you assert that Barton Stone Divinity School awarded three degrees in exchange for no money. I truly think that you, like Jimmy, is the one that has to get the facts straight (as onerous as a task as that may be).

    Dr. Trudy,

Please do not bow out of this forum before letting us know where you earned your doctorates from. If you are proud of them this should be no problem. This forum has no problem (other than over utility) of legitmate unaccredited programs such as Bob Jones University or Pensacola Christian College. You will find some members questioning the utility of CCU degrees as well as quality due to perceived standards.

Never mind the give account to God stuff. So will you. God expects our best and that means preparing ourselves well and in the United States that means accredited degrees (DETC, RA, TRACS, ATS, AABC) or legit high quality unaccredited programs such as BJU or PCC. Anything less has the potential to drag Christianity down in the eyes of non Christians and hold Christian professionals up to ridicule. Better to have no degree and simply go on your expertise and intellect (eg Hank Hanegraaf) than to have milled doctorates (which is an unethical, an integrity or intellect issue). I am ****NOT**** saying you have milled doctorates because to be frank we do not know the source of your doctorates so I do not want to jump to conclusions.

Again, as several have already requested it would be helpful for you to post the source of your doctorates.

Ok. let me get this straight. First "Jimmy" resigns his degreeinfo account, goes on to post numerous off topic post, and then send his wife in to defend himself? This is hilarious! These people come off looking very foolish and certainly distance themselves from anything godly or holy.

It actually gets even more interesting. Before Doc Trudy appeared on this Forum (alerted by her “JimmyScope” Webwatching software), and Jimmy’s “wife” dutifully showed up to do his dirty work, Jimmy posted the following message on about.com’s distance learning forum under the member name LIBREP:
    • Hi,
I have just joined this forum. I look forward to some enriching and stimulating discussions. Allow me to introduce myself: my name is James W. Clifton, I am an ordained minister. I received my Bachelor's degree from Delta State University, Cleveland, Mississippi, an accredited school, in 1974. I did graduate work at Augusta College, Augusta, Georgia, an accredited school and at the Earlham School of Religion, Richmond, Indiana, an accredited school. I lacked some courses completing my Master of Divinity degree. I received a Master of Theology and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from Bethany Theological Seminary, Dothan, Alabama, an unaccredited school. I fell into the trap of earning some other degrees from schools that turned out to be less than reputable.
      Thanks,
      Jimmy
    Isn’t that special….

In another message he posted an old link to a distance learning Web site. In other words, he went venue shopping, and is now utilizing the same strategy he attempted on the old AED and then on DegreeInfo: to slowly try to establish credibility as some sort of distance learning expert before posting his multitude of "Has anyone heard of..." messages.

Degree mill operators deserve no respect. They are dupes. I don't care whether they refer to themselves as Reverend X or Reverend Y. They are thieves masquerading as men of God. They are stealing in the name of God. Period.

Jimmy has deleted the Yahoo Group that I linked to. Wonder why if he hasn't done anything unethical?

Someone provided information that one of Dr. Trudy's degrees (Th.D.) comes from the University of St. Thomas in England. Is that by any chance connected with this institution??

Dr. Trudy, please be so kind as to post the source of your five doctorates then you would be able to silence your critics unless.......

If you have 5 accredited/equivalent of accredited doctorates I think we would all be in awe of your academic prowess.

I don't want to develop a reputation of "Jimmy" bashing...but I wouldn't be surprised if Dr. Trudy Veerman is really Jimmy Clifton in disguise.

I am already in awe of Dr Trudy's *prestigiation* (I love long words, it's just hard to pump the keys while I copy from my dictionary!) But I have been thinking.

Perhaps we are hasty in repugning Doc Trudy's degrees. I mean, follow this reasoning: she must have done something for all of those doctorates, right? And, she just doesn't have two or three , she has *FIVE,*right?

So, why not look at this cumulatively? Say a degree mill doc is only worth a fraction of an RA doc...say 1/5? Well then 1/5 X 5 = 1 !!!! So, let's knock this off. Sure, we don't have to call her, doctor, doctor, doctor, doctor, doctor Trudy, but why not at least suppose that 5 phony=one real?

Now, what's the number of doctor, doctor Jimmy's school, hmmm?

    Re: Jimmy's Covering His Tracks

I'm just coming on board here to inform you that Dr. Jimmy Clifton has NO way of deleting the General Conference Yahoo Board.

In the first place he has NO involvement with the GenConf since May 2001. Secondly, he is NOT the Owner nor the Moderator of the GenConf Yahoo board.

Dr. Clifton is NOT covering his tracks, as you may have thought. This shows you how unfactual some of you are.

The GenConf Board has been deleted by the rightful owner for the sake of avoiding troublemakers to have access to the posts of its group members.

Now, please, go on and stick your hand in your own bosom, if you understand this expression.

I will allow the word of God to have the last word here, and if you don't like it ....go and tell Him.

    And Jesus said:
And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye. Matthew 7:3-5 KJV

"If any man serve Me, him will My Father honour." John 12:26

    Go in peace.

Re: ACADEMIC HONESTY AND THE MINISTRY

Congratulations, Bill!! After doing some extensive research I'm pleased to report that if you send $1,000.00 to John Deere University they will be happy to award to you a PhD in Turfology. By the way, they'll throw in a riding lawnmower with the diploma. :D

    Captain? Jimmy? Donna? Trudy?
Which are you? Did you earn an accredited doctorate yet? Or by another poster's formula...did you tack on another 5 bogus ones?

    Christian Mill activity

    North,
You know, I have seen a lot of this with respect to Christian martial arts. Schools will offer a PhD in Martial Arts Ministry, or something similar, for $500. Isn't that an incredible smack in the collective face of Christianity?

    Just chiming in,

It is very wrong, unethical and outright dishonest for anyone to use qualifications that they know they did little or no work to earn. I have been to meetings where individuals have presented themselves as Dr. So and So, knowing very well that they were being deceptive because they had no right to use the title considering that their doctorate was awarded by a degree mill.
I do not know all the details concerning Jimmy or Trudy's degrees and therefore will not comment. However I believe you have knocked-out Jimmy. It is not necessary to keep pounding on him.
I believe the purpose of this forum is to provide useful information and so far I have gotten information that would have taken hours of research. Conributions from posters such as Rich Douglas, John Bear and others have proved to be very valuable. I even went and purchased a copy of Bears Guide.
When information is no longer useful, it has no purpose. The additional information on this thread is not useful.
    Michael.

If a school is selling degrees without requiring a substantive course of study, whether religious or secular, the operators fall well within the parameters of Ike's definition. For those who do so under the guise of religion, the ethical breach is exponentially more disturbing.
