The Hard Left isn't happy. But for the life of me, I can't think who it would be, who would have any chance I mean. There are a few prominent Democrats with bases of support to be sure; former Gov. Gregoire of Washington State or Gov. Whitmer of Michigan but neither seems to be interested. Thoughts?
I doubt it. Anyone who would want a future in presidential politics would surely refrain from this move. The last serious effort to bump an incumbent came in 1980 with Kennedy v. Carter. That didn't end well for Teddy. On the other hand, Reagan gave for a run for his money in 1976, yet still prevailed in 1980. So, maybe?
I doubt that anyone would challenge Biden in the primary. If he chose not to run I could easily see folks challenging Kamala Harris though. Personally I'd rather see someone younger running, I like Kamala for example. However, if Trump is in the game for 2024 then all bets are off as far as I'm concerned. I'll be entirely focused on who has the best chance to beat Trump. Right now I'd guess that would likely be Biden.
The way things are going, I might have to write your name in just so I can have a clear conscience after voting. I don't like anyone who's within two ballparks of winning on either side for the next election.
Harris could try it but in doing so she'd have to give up any hope of a future run with Biden's machine supporting her. That's a big deal.
If nominated I will not run; if elected I will not serve. (Much to the probable delight of most people here. )
Even I think you people are nuts! Although... I could see making very liberal use of the powers of pardon and amnesty to clear nonviolent offenders out of federal prisons. Unfortunately, though, POTUS can't do that for the incarcerated at the state level. Oh, and I'd definitely ask about extraterrestrials. You never know....
