Why is there such venom in political discussions here?

I hate to disappoint everyone but the initial poster was a spammer. How many people are going to join degreeinfo, which is not really a political board, and make their first post talking about such venom in political discussions? Especially since people are generally at least reasonably polite here?

Oh well, it's been an interesting discussin anyway.

 

Could be. But it could be a certain rascal I have in mind. Certain folks don't like my supposedly evil "leftist" positions, which is funny because I consider myself a moderate. Oh well.

I'm a moderate as well, or at least I think so.

 

I'm used to think I was moderate, and then realized that I am in fact very radical. I mistook falling on either side of the spectrum with moderation, when in fact, I rarely fall in the middle.
