Why do you post on DegreeInfo? And/or why do you follow it?

I am not an active poster, but I visit DI frequently!

Why? Well, it started when I was searching for information about universities for my postgraduate studies. Thereafter, I discovered what a great community this is! People share a wealth of information, and I have not only learned about programs or universities but loads about distance learning and accreditation.

Without the knowledge I gained combing thru the 10s of thousands of posts, I would still be trying to figure out how to scrape together an undergraduate degree. Never mind an MBA. Posting on degree info is important for all of us.

I've been with DI since its inception, transferring from the old AED forum. I do so because of my interest in distance education.

Everyone has different views, but I'll try to explain from a purely outsider's viewpoint. When i first encountered this site, i didn't know even about regional vs national accreditation (late 2013). I started looking for schools mentioned in this forum and initially enrolled in a nationally accredited school due to price, later on after exploring more posts, I switched to a regional one (whole process took 3 months - early 2014). Later on I started an MS and now I'm done with that. Honestly I wouldn't have done that, had i not found this forum. I wonder if there is any other 'success story' like me here :D
