    Dr.Bear
Sounds like it should have been accredited by Eartha Kitt.

My point is that experts in diploma mills can exist beyond the realms of Degreeinfo, and I am surprised that Dr Bear, whose comments about Dr Soltan do hint a little of professional 'competitiveness', does not realise that!

    Dear John,

You are young at heart, but your information is old. There have been substantial changes in Kittitian politics and governmental ethics since the ouster of the penny-dreadful People's Action Movement and its replacement with the SKN Labour Party under Dr Douglas. (No, not that Dr Douglas.)

If it is wrong to cite what was said by any of us* several years ago when conditions have since changed--and I do believe that that staple of hoolerei over at elsewhere is simply meretricious--then it is wrong in a similar fashion to haul out old data without answering the question: what is the situation now?

Has it changed, or has it not?

That situation may be no better than it was, or it may have improved but insufficiently/unsubstantially, or it may have improved in significant ways.
From what I know of Kittitian politics, I am certain that it has not deteriorated.

I appreciate Steve's having a go at the current accreditation protocol.

I wish you and others would do so as well. After all, you are the patriarch of all of us.

    Eis polla eti, despota!

    Janko

*Yourself and our Dr Douglas being the constant targets of this malicious pretense.

Only to you, a regular at The Crabby Forum, where Dr. Bear's critics are many and abusive; and for whom you and I both know you're performing here.

He does; and you know he does.

This is your final warning, David: Knock off the subtle little swipes, or you're gone.

    Bear:
What a silly thing to say. My "diploma mill experts" Rolodex has well over 100 names, and to the best of my knowledge only two of them post here with any regularity.

    PS: "realise"? Also, perhaps "whilst"?

I posted a reply here but it is gone as far as I can tell. I have looked in this thread, and I have searched under my name, but it has been removed. I would have thought that I would be informed if my posts were removed. I would have liked to post a follow up as I have been provided with additional information since my original post.

Oh well, if the powers that be felt that removing my post was in the best interest of all then so be it. After all I don't pay the electric bill for this place.

I recall five years ago or so when Degreeinfo.com was more fact based and geared toward helping students and of course one another and less opinionated and political. I feel that it has degraded over the years but is still far superior to the alternatives.

mdoneil - Having read your post I have made a cursory check and find no indication that your post was moved/removed. There have been no communications regarding you or your post. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. I don't have a good explanation.
    Try again.

My original post was nothing earth shattering, just an opinion of some inner machinations of degree info.

It is not my sandbox, they just let me play here so I'll leave well enough alone.

By the way, the notion that John would somehow be concerned about another "diploma mill expert" is absurd. He routinely sends people my way because he doesn't have sufficient bandwidth to talk to them all. I know he sends them to others, too.

Hmm. I think there are quite a number of people here I would call an expert on the subject and who post with any regularity. It may not be their profession, but it's certainly possible for amateurs to be experts.

    Wow,

I can't believe how untrue that final statement is. AED is home of slander and untruth. DI lets anyone comment as long as they can keep within the TOS. If a poster writes something either slanderous or untrue they are very likely to be called on it and the record corrected. I appreciate there being a standard of truth even if I don't agree with a position or opinion. It is part of being a community.

    What Dave said.

PS. Hey, Margaret! You gonna sing or you gonna cook, Pavarotti? :)

I would like to report that, contrary to his expectations or wishes, mdoneil has not been banned. If, however, he has decided to take his perspective elsewhere, that is his priviledge. Should he decide to return I hope he will not make the moderation of this board the focus of his attention. There is, after all, so much more. If, however, this continues to be a focus for mdoneil then I will be happy to personally push the button. It's your choice Matthew.

As someone who has been a lurker throughout this period of time, I think some of this is the inevitable result of time itself. The senior members here really are ridiculously helpful, they can send multiple links faster than a speeding bullet, and the search function answers a lot of questions if only we remember to use it. Opinions and politics with smart, savvy people actually make Degreeinfo fun, and the fact that THE John Bear might actually read one of MY little posts is like a little bit of heaven, to quote the Irish poem I suspect many here know well. Degreeinfo is still a big smoochy love-fest compared to other forums I have visited, and ergo I spend more time "here" than "there."

    Re: Well this was fun

I just have to point out two things.

First, it is generally considered rather rude to publically post emails or PM's.

Second, I'm pleased to learn that you know that the answer is 42.
