Where is Johann?

Johann is always so kind to me and helped me so much. I pray he is doing all right. I’m so lucky to have found this forum. Everyone is so nice, super helpful, and supportive.

 

I wonder if the admins know Johann's real name and location. Maybe we could try a newspaper or internet search. It would be awful if he needed help and couldn’t reach out.

 

He described close ties with his younger-generation family, so we know he has people looking out for him.

 

I can't remember whether I signed up to this board with my real name. It would be nice if the admins could look him up.

 

Johann has new conversations turned off. I had an old conversation with him still "open" so I sent a reply there in September but didn't hear back. I do occasionally Google the personal details I do have (date of birth + real first name) but nothing turns up in the ocean that is the web.

 

Doesn't DegreeInfo's administrator have the capability to see where Johann's last post-IP geolocation or IP address?

 

Agreed. Just because someone is advanced in years and we're worried him/her...doesn't give us the right to hunt them down and invade privacy.

 

Johann openly discussed living in Hamilton, west of Toronto. His recent posts will likely have an IP address from an ISP or other internet access point near Hamilton. There's really not much to that.

 

His profile page clearly says
"No more posts. Bye." That's as he wanted it, and the least we can do is to respect his wish.

 

If he's still around, I hope he returns. Otherwise, it's a treat to re-read his contributions.
