I happen to agree with James.

First, it is important to understand what your needs are and where you are in life.

I feel if you are a recent high school graduate you should attempt to get into an RA college. If you are older or established, a DETC university may be right for you.

You have to factor in if you want to go for a graduate degree or career change. RA then in that case may be right for you.

I happen to be in a DETC accredited college, and I am learning just as much as when I took RA classes. In fact I just took a quick break from King Darius in Western Civilization I . Lots of work here, but I enjoy the heck out of it.

Isn't it supposed to be enjoyable too? Thanks.

    :)

Absolutely it should be enjoyable. What could be better than meeting a challenge, and doing well. Tell old Darius hello for me, it's long since I've visited him, too long. Darius the great was a powerful ruler and I suspect almost as good as he believed. :)

    Re: second half of diatribe

A hard study such as you describe, what people are doing, and not what they say they do, would be interesting to see. A blind study in which admissions or employers really believe they are admitting students or hiring someone would also be informative. People often say they do this when in reality they do that. A business exists for profit, and not for social experiment. Someone that can buy for 3 and sale for 5 is highly prized. Many internal company rules get stretched when a proven producer shows up.
