I wasn't sure where to share this news, as it doesn't specifically relate to their degree programs. A former coach is exposing a "tell all" on X using #SurvivingVUL and it's gaining traction.

It started on a Youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/live/RRW4bgyRCCE?si=S11kiQwM_LRccsLl

A few days later, this article is posted:

As a grad, I'm disheartened and I'm shocked as my experience was positive. I hope VUL's administration addresses this scandal sooner than later.

Well, the school may cease to exist anyway - if it doesn't solve its accreditation woes and my guess is it can't. I figure most of the administration people may be packing their bags right now.

The school definitely doesn't have a place in college athletics. First, it's obvious they have no money and second, if this travesty has been going on under the administration's collective nose - fire them before they quit, then mothball the teams - forever.

There might be no need. The school may soon mothball itself.

Looks like coach Tim Newman continued to get fat, while his recruiting co-ordinator and running backs coach, Doe Edwards, got pretty much none of what he was promised. I take it there was no written employment agreement, or doubtless, Mr. Edwards would be seeking a remedy in court. It looks simple - promises were made to Mr. Edwards that didn't materialize. The problem is - how specific were the promises. "I'll try to get you some money," "I'll see about a car," "I'll try next spring" aren't what you want to hear from a boss.

A very bitter lesson for Mr. Edwards - get it all in writing when you accept a job offer. And make sure the person who's offering you a job ha the authority to hire you. I hope things go much, much better for him in future. This is a really ugly mess.

Word among the alumni is the accreditation warning is administrative as they needed to complete their 2022 audit, hence the warning. Others are now concerned these headlines diminish the value of their degree. The silence from VUL surrounding the poor treatment of the football team and the accreditation warning is deafening. Their 2023 newsletter states VUL is finally debt-free, which begs other questions.
