Didn't I also see a thread on a new DBA from Royal Roads University in BC?

    Re: Re: Problem

Yes, but it is "ouch" expensive and required too many visits for my available free time. I would love to get one from Royal Roads though.

What is sad about the whole Newcastle situation is that anything from the graduateschool.com portion of the programs is prompt even proactive. However, the international office is part of the traditional school and they do not seem geared to deal with the distance learner yet. Too bad, I did like the class structure. I am just not able to pay for this out of pocket so if I cannot get the Stafford I will have to drop them.

Sorry you're having so much trouble - hope you find a business doctoral program that actually works for you!

    Re: Newcastle

If you can afford three months each Summer (which may not be an option for you), there are U.S. options. Gonzaga, at the very least, has a PhD in Leadership that can be taken with a heavy educational leadership emphasis, and it can be taken purely Summers and online. There are some other Summer-only doctorate programs out there. I think UT-Austin has one in Educational Psychology which might be of interest to you.

There are also a number of very good U.S. schools that offer EdDs and/or PhDs in Education with low residencies and online components: Purdue, Nebraska, Regent, Clemson (I think).

    A communication

Finally, I received a communication from the International Office. However, it was basically a referral to their education partner here in the USA (Australearn). They wanted to start the whole process all over again! I am so frustrated right now I am just done with them. I have until the 23rd to drop the course and cannot start over again. At this point I am going to have to drop them to avoid losing the $1250 I paid for the first class.

It would be different if I hadn't already gone through the Stafford loan process for a foreign school. My daughter and I just navigated the process for her at her school in Canada. It was slow but it was very simple. Newcastle, however, just can't seem to figure out what they need to do despite the fact that I sent the application to the very person who the International Education Financing Corporation said was the person they had worked with before!

    Hmmm...

Well, after I posted my complaint concerning the International office to gradschools.com I received an email that the problem was with the International office and they couldn't help me.

Another thing that is irritating me is that not only do I have to pay more for tuition but I have to pay more to withdraw! They screw up and cannot finish about 4 lines on a Stafford loan application and I have to pay for it.

Lesson learned, I am done with schools outside of North America.
