PF _ ask John Bear - he drew up the list or is blamed for it :))

In essence it relates to what is our high school being completed at your BS/BA level, and what is our bachelors professional qualifying concentrations being undertaken at your masters level - get it?. If, as I have seen in several US Doctorates, the coursework component is at our masters level, and the dissertation is say 30K and has 2 pages of bibliography, not many are going to really look at it.

It does however raise the ongoing issue of standards at each end of the world.

Bill signed the cheques ... and I got a scholarship to cover the fees etc for the PhD.

I must state that my mentor, Dr Linda Yates was wonderful and I still keep in touch with her. It was Whatshisname and Whoosit that were the problems - hard to believe that either had any previous exposure to educational administration at any level from any aspect in any context - yes that says it.

Actually, Tom, Nefertiti looks a lot like a distance learner I knew in a previous life. Her assignments were written on parchment, and mailed via caravan. IIRC, it took her 20 years to complete the degree, however, 15 of those years were spent waiting on assignments. The degree was from the University of Langley Bridge. [IMG]
