So it is May, how are you enjoying the program so far?
You have an MBA and BS in Business, and are adjunct professor, would you recommend this program for someone who does not have a BS in Business?

I have have a BA but not in business, and I have spent the last two and half years taking pre-reqs and other business classes so that I could be admitted to an MSA, and I was, to Indiana University. My situation in life has changed though, and distance education would solve a lot of my concerns. My employment has been entirely in tax advising, grant and budget management, but it has been hard to move up without a business degree. I would be getting this degree so that I could get accounting positions with NGOs or do tax advising abroad.

Any insight you may offer would be greatly appreciated.

UGH, sorry I am new to this online community so I may have already posted a similar question but I did not see it posted, so I am reposting....

Anyway, I was wondering how you like the UCONN program so far?? Is it challenging? Would you recommend it for someone who does not have a BS in Business, but has worked for 5 years in tax advising??

I am so wary of trying an online program, but my life situation at the moment makes online/distance ed look very attractive.

    Thanks, J

I love the program. Funny you asked me this yesterday because I'm in Storrs this week for a week in residence. Great so far...

Because you're into tax, I can't help but wonder if you should consider the University of Tulsa's Master of Taxation? If you seek a MS in Accounting specifically, however, U Conn should be one of, if not THE, top choices. Fantastic school, great program, nice people...what else could you ask for?

Thanks for the direction to University of Tulsa! I may do both!!

Because my husband transfers a lot, I was just looking to find a way to get the degree that would give me the most flexibility. I did taxes then found myself doing bookkeeping and budgets for small NGOs the last 2 years.

    Thanks again!

This question maybe premature to ask given you just started and may not have taken a final exam yet, but what are the quizzes and exams like: proctored, multiple choice, true/false, essay, short answer, timed exams, etc.?

Not proctored but timed and comprehensive and coupled with large projects. My taxation project generated a response from a teammate that he needed 4 days and 3 bubble baths to finish something like that!!!

Just wondering DBA_Curious if you finished the UCONN Masters DL Program. I am looking into this program and would like your expert opinion on the it. I am also looking into Auburn's distance MAcc and the University of South Dakota's online program. I liked the University of Denver's Master of Taxation, however it is too expensive for me.
