I thought I'd start a thread about some unique trainings, certifications, licenses, etc. Notary I've been a Notary for a few years. In my state it costs $30 for a 3-year notary commission. I completed some free training online and bought a notary kit for $40. You can find the requirements to become a notary here: https://www.asnnotary.org/?form=stateinfo Bear Identification Montana has a free Bear Identification program. It's an endorsement that gets added to hunting licenses but you can do the online course and take the test even if you're out of state: https://fwp.mt.gov/hunt/education/bear-identification I completed it a while back but I'd need to refresh my memory. Bourbon Steward You can become a certified Bourbon Steward through the Stave and Thief Academy for $75. I haven't done it but it seemed interesting. https://staveandthief.com/certifications/
They're really serious about this. Good for them. There's also an advanced, Executive Bourbon Steward Program. Bourbon was my favourite strong drink, for about 44 years, from age 18 to around 62, when I quit. I would have taken this course in a heartbeat, before I quit alcohol - mostly for money reasons. Most of what I paid for it went to taxes - I didn't like that. I still try to keep up on new trends, such as Bourbons produced in Mississippi, like Old Soul and Rich Grain. They're also linked to a school with various liquor-oriented courses and a delightful name - Moonshine University. You can see their courses here: https://moonshineuniversity.com/courses/ I'd be proud to be an alumnus. Maybe I'll take a course that doesn't involve tasting... if there is one.
There are other interesting drinks coming out of Mississippi these days, like Cathead Distillery's Hoodoo Chicory Liqueur. As a higher ed. note, David Rich, whose company produced the first Mississippi Bourbon, is an "Ole Miss." (University of Mississippi) alumnus.

When I operated a scuba diving center, I met a client about age 20 partway through his yearlong project of getting one certification or license each month on average through the year, including open water scuba diver, CDL-A tractor-trailer driver, real estate sales representative, and FINRA Series 63 securities agent.
Oops. I had one of those, too. Series 6 and 63. Plus a life and disability insurance license. I gotta retire, man.
I learned about rat tickling on one of these forums. https://nc3rs.org.uk/3rs-resources/rat-tickling/rat-tickling-certification
These might not all be unique, but they're not known enough that people new to the workforce generally consider them. I searched Indeed for kinesiotherapist openings; there were only four results for the entire U.S. Two were for assistant professor openings, and two were for the VA. I guess people major in this field with the goal of only working for one employer. I guess they could also find work as exercise physiologists.

"Personal Stylist" caught my eye. The job is an integral, recognized role in fashion merchandising. A personal stylist is a fashion stylist who works with major clients of a fashion firm to achieve their individual "best look". The pay in the US isn't bad at all - average around 56K. Details here. https://www.salary.com/research/salary/posting/fashion-stylist-salary
There are also personal stylists who freelance - creating the "best look" for the clients who will pay them for this service.
