Uneven standards aren't an issue exclusive to online education and it's certainly not new, nor is the perception the article touches on about substandard programs or the belief that certain programs are substandard. All that has happened is the focus has shifted from ground-based to online programs. The answer to this certainly isn't more accreditation, I just think at some point we have to accept what we already know and have known for generations: every institution is not created equal.
