Why do I get the impression that certain individuals want this thing to go in the same direction as the Ann & Nancy thread of awhile back?

This is a more moderan picture and she is older. At one time she was really, really cute. This was back in 1988 when she was the Workers' World Party VP candidate on the ticket with Larry Holmes (not the boxer).

The initial peacekeeping efforts in Kosovo were a NATO mission. Russia was an ally of Serbia and continually blocked efforts to control them through the UN. Kind of like how they and France did with Iraq. China was also a non-aligned spoiler in each event. NATO did in fact invade the former Yugoslavia as Kosovo was part of Yugoslavia. What you meant to say was that the US did not invade Serbia. They did however bomb them until they withdrew their forces from Kosovo. The UN didn't get involved until after the fact.

Somalia was a relief effort that under Clinton turned into an effort to arrest a couple of the more troublesome warlords. In that sense, since the Warlords were what passed for government in Somalia, one could say its purpose was a sort of regime change.

It had been the stated purpose of the United States since 1998 to cause regime change in Iraq....

I do know how to spell "modern." The edit function was not working properly.

Also, La Riva was the WWP Presidential candidate in 1992. She's pretty leftist and really very pro-Castro.

Just for the record, Murtha voted AGAINST his own proposal friday when the republicains called the democrates bluff. I understand and respect that some people are against the war, but understand that the Democrats are just providing lip service and when givin the chance to vote for this only 3 came through out of 200 or so. 9 voted present and refused to anty up and vote. I think the democrates want to keep the money from the MoveOn branch of the party, but know that mainstream america wont vote that way and are try to stradle the fence...

Just be a Libertarian or a Green..Drop the big 2..IMHO

That's what burns my arse the most about the Left. They themselves don't even believe half the crap that comes out of their own mouths. When given the chance to put up or shut up, they do neither.

As long as it's the Green Party of the United States and not the The Greens/Green Party USA, which is horribly ultra, ultra left and nearly communist.
