Underserved students globally -- sounds to me there'd be way more than 2,500 underserved students in less-developed countries. Don't see how they could make very many of these available in the US. America doubtless has plenty of underserved students, but lots of places have many times more -- underserved, WAY underserved and not served at all.

Can't see how it applies to a lot of folks on DI. And those it does apply to -- well, the numbers don't look good, if it's truly "global." I wish good luck to those US prospective students who meet the AWS definition of "underserved" - whatever that may be, in income etc.

DI has been around a long, long time and constantly has fresh content, which means it's pretty high on search engine results. Most people who get information from here don't actually join, and they stop by here from everywhere.

    True - and a much-needed reminder. Thanks.

My point still stands. The scholarship deal appears to be global - for underserved students. It's great if some of that large community stop by and learn of it. However there's a tendency here for some North American members to view global offers as a freebie everyone should go after, "get 'em before they're gone" regardless of their being relatively well-off. A sort of Groupon. That's what I'm speaking out against.
