A lady co worker has an NA Degree DEAC accredited.
She was asking me if I know if NCU will accept her NA degree or if she wanted to earn second bachelors degree would NCU will accept her DEAC (DETC) credit?

The adviser from NCU was unclear and wanted her tp apply pay a fee then they would provide her with transfer options.

I know only one case from the past, then NCU didn't accept any transfer credit from DETC accredited school.

Wander if there is more info or experiences out there.

    She is now checking APU.
She still interested in NCU because she would like WASC accredited degree.

When I was looking for a Masters program . . .NCU, WGU and CTU accepted my Aspen University BSBA without hesitation.

I had web chat session with NCU , very nice and informative.
They stated that their credit evaluation will be no charge.
I communicated to the co worker.

I have a couple of comments on this topic. I believe I'm correct when I say that there are no such things as "DEAC credits" or even "NA credits." The credits in question come from a specific school that happens to be accredited by DEAC (or some other NA entity). DEAC does not issue the credits. This is important because, just like the Regional Accreditors, DEAC accredits a whole bunch of schools that cover a large range of foci (I mean they focus on different stuff) and a wide range of quality. And so it's easy to imagine that an RA school, XYZ University, might accept credits from one DEAC school but not another. Sometimes schools have written agreements about this as we all know. So . . . no such animal as DEAC credits. Now the second point I wanted to make is related to the quotation above. I believe that this action taken by the school is what we might call "standard practice." I believe that the vast majority of schools will require that you apply for admission, provide your transcripts and all other relevant materials, then and only then will they make a determination about whether they will accept credits (which credits, how many credits, etc.) in transfer. So in this regard I would find your friend's experience in keeping with general practices, as I know them. I hope it works out OK for her.

Heck, there are RA schools that sometimes accept (typically a very limited number) credits from certain unaccredited schools. And I've seen credits from one RA school not transfer to another RA school. So it shouldn't be shocking that there is just a bit more nuance than we would like to admit.
