Back in the early days of PCs, there was a similar name generator for computer-related enterprises - and a few years later, another for Internet-related businesses. I've long suspected that major corporations and Governments may have similar programs that generate job titles and descriptions (and possibly legislation). I remember back around 1982-3 using an early programming book, to learn how to write a simple routine for generating computer business names -- in Basic, on my $80 Timex-Sinclair machine. It showed off the "random" function quite nicely.

Oh, there are a lot of random events in the business world...
Remember the Dilbert Mission Statement Generator (no longer online on dilbert.com)?

I thought Dilbert was a fun comic - but I had a tendency to pass it by, because it was often uncomfortably close to what went on in my REAL work environment - another "Cubicle Hell," likely the product of a random office-design program.

Marge Simpson : What exactly is it your company does again?
Homer Simpson : This industry moves so fast it's really hard to tell. That's why I need a name that's cutting-edge, like CutCo, EdgeCom, Interslice. Come on, Marge, you're good at these! Help me out!
Marge Simpson : How about... Compu-global-hyper-mega-net?
Homer Simpson : Fine, it's not important. What really matters is my title. I think I'll make myself... vice president. No, wait! Junior vice president!
