    I've run into this with a few people who work in coaching and want you to think that they are either physicians or Clinical Psychologists. They often turn out to have an EdD or PhD in Leadership or Organizational Behavior or a similar field. An absolutely serviceable credential, but when you're walking around calling yourself "Dr Smith, the Happiness Coach" you don't want people to know your thesis was written on the relationship between leadership styles and the tenure of financial analysts. (Not a real example, but similar to several I've seen.) And of course, they're never ICF credentialed.
