...with my BS degree at Excelsior!!! Took my last test today. It took two months to complete over 30 tests, 8 months for the last test! Anyway, I am finished and can now concentrate on my Masters. Thanks to everyone here for the advice and encouragement. Threre is no way I could have done it (or would have done it) without your help. Cheers, John
Terrific, John! I recall your fierce internal debate over which master's to pursue. All best wishes to you as you proceed. Janko
Congratulations John! Take a five minute break and then we'll start talking about Masters degree programs. Jack
Uncle Janko, Yes, I ended up with the Queen Margaret MBA in Golf & Country Club Management. Have already completed one module in Management. Still have several exemption requests pending. Great program but hit-or-miss communication with admin. They have had some turnover, but it seems to be getting better. Anyway, never thought I would get my degree; let alone be on course for an MBA!! Thanks again
But the real question, Mr. Spies, is did you use a Dreadnought to time your school work? Regards, Michael Lloyd Mill Creek, Washington USA PS: To those who are scratching their heads, Mr. Spies and I both participate in a UK forum about watches, including the above-mentioned model.
Congratulations, John! There is nothing quite like getting that first degree under your belt, no matter how old you are - but speaking from experience, getting it as a "mature" adult seems a little sweeter so be sure to enjoy it even though you are already working on the next one. Best, Mary
Allow me to join the others in saying: CONGRATULATIONS! Are you planning to pursue your Masters through Excelsior?
Thanks everyone. Mary, you are right; it is sweeter! I have waited so long! Michael, the 'Dread' is simply incredible! There is no better 'tool' watch out there at this price-point. Good to hear from you again.
Congratulations, John, on your accomplishment! I just started the last course I needed for my Excelsior degree. I can hardly wait to finish! Regards, Tony
John, how long did it take you to complete your degree? I am gathering my transcripts from 4 colleges, so that I can transfer the credits and apply to Excelsior. I think that I have about 80 credits. How long would it take me to complete my degree? I am in a rush. I want to teach starting in August 2004. Thank you (or anyone else for the information).
Donna, First of all, congratulations on making the decision to finish your degree. Honestly, for me, that was the hardest part! I went in with 12 credits, mainly from military training. I then took (if I remember correctly) about 30 CLEP, DANTES, and Excelsior exams in the space of 8 weeks. My last test, College Math proved to be a challenge as I only scored a 49 and had to retake it 6 months later. So, all in all, 8 months give or take. Get the CLEP books, take the practice tests, sit the exams. Review Lawrie Miller's website bain4weeks.com. Without it and degreeinfo.com, I never would have done it. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I would love to help someone else, given all the assistance I received! John
Thanks very much. It seems that I am back on track with Queen Margaret; just received my Research Methods module. It will be a challenge!
