https://www.inquirer.com/education/temple-business-education-department-scandal-rankings-20201204.html Just today, one of my students sent me a thank you email for providing her with a letter of reference. She got into her top choice - Fox School of Business at Temple University with a scholarship.
Looks like once they discovered wrong was done, they cleaned house and paid for all the sins committed in their name. Right thing to do. Perhaps, Chris, your student might get some of that new scholarship money they put on the table as part of the remedial actions. Oh -- I just saw -- looks like maybe she did. Good going! I wish her every success!
Temple University is still great. They used to rank behind Drexel University but now they're similar.. to be honest, I'd recommend you to go to Temple over Drexel. Tuition at Temple is much cheaper.
If you're from Philadelphia, Temple is just another schlock school - a cheaper version of Penn or Drexel, located in an historic ghetto (which, of course, has been significantly gentrified over the years) like both Penn and Drexel (ditto on the gentrification). If you're not from Philly, Temple has an outstanding reputation. Ditto Syracuse University, which has been an early leader in nontraditional education. If you're from Syracuse, you're not impressed with it (even Neuhaus passed up on Syracuse to do his MBA at the lesser-known U. Scranton). But if you're not from Syracuse, you view S.U. as a top-notch school. The obvious point: Locals tend to downplay their local institutions, even though those schools may have a stellar reputation on a national level. For those who disagree with me, get over it - I'm right, and you're wrong. As always, I have spoken.
Thanks. I am happy for her. She was a stellar student in my Intro to Business class in Fall 2019. She's also the vice president of one of the clubs I moderate (Entrepreneurship & Innovation Club). I love Temple University, and I seriously considered the Beasley School of Law. It's a nicely ranked law school (#6 part-time law and #56 best law school, per USNRW). However, I can't commit to any more schools after my Ph.D. I want nothing more than to start raising my (soon-to-be) toddler son Law school will ruin that!
Tempe University is a great school! I have high regards for them as an institution. Congratulations to your former student Chris!
I think Temple University is more popular than Drexel. Check Temple University's twitter page: https://twitter.com/TempleUniv They have 159,000 followers. Drexel Univ have 26,000 followers: https://twitter.com/DrexelUniv I used to attend Drexel. I regret not majoring in Computer Science at Drexel that could totally save my career.
