So, how tall are you? My wife and I are not tall, we're not really short either, I would say "average height"... I was just reading about height and if it has any correlation to education, success, etc. From reading these few articles, it seems they may be correlated. The taller the person, the better they get with determining outcomes to education, jobs, health, etc.

I would caution that correlation doesn't equal causation and that the things that leas to tallness (good genetics, nutritious meals, a lack of smoking and body trauma, etc.) are more likely to be found in people of wealth, with level of education being a byproduct of their wealth.

Yeah - and tall students can get the books from the top shelf easier. :) I don't think there's much in the correlation. Genetics for height are one thing. Not necessarily accompanied by good nutrition, for instance. The shortest kid in my Grade 9 class was also the smartest - or the best student, in any case. He was the only one there to become an MD in later years. His sister was in the same class. She was two years older - and taller than her brother. And stayed taller. A completely average student. Genetics? Hah!

Dr. Joe is still short - he's around my age (79) now and still has his medical practice, as far as I know. At least, I passed his office a few days ago on the bus and his shingle is still there.

I think the article is the kind of stuff writers play around with to amuse themselves. A grain of truth perhaps - somewhere...

This thing I wrote about Dr. Joe is true - but also the kind of anecdotal stuff I play around with to amuse myself. And you, of course. :)

We had some pretty smart kids who came from that class.. One doctor, a Minister, several teachers, a couple of accountants --- and the there was me --- what on earth happened?
