Indeed it does, and that thing is: "Don't vote for Jeb Bush."

Judging people who dont shave and wear earrings = good.Judging people who wear hoodies = bad.How come we never see more recent pictures of the two people involved in this tragedy?Like this:[IMG]At least Trayvons Mother has applied for Trademarks on phrases with her son's name in them so that she can make money....I mean memorialize his death.

Here is the thing. The shooter is making himself appear as some kind of authority (there is a reason why cops where uniforms and badges), so given his appearance, anyone would assume he was a thug trying to rob a person, or worse. I have no problem with people wearing earings or being unkempt. However, this guy gave himself the authority to shot someone. I could care less if someone is unshaven. I represent workers ranging from trade fields to professional fields. This is not about me trying to discriminate against this unshaven unkempt guy. My point is how would an average person respond to some bozo approaching him with a gun?

Here's what we know: 1. George Zimmerman a Hispanic night watchmen (community block watch person), wannabe cop with some past brushes with trouble. We know that he follows a young kid in a hoodie, Trayvon, as coincidentally also had numerous past brushes with trouble. 2. We know that Trayvon is dead from a bullet from Zimmerman's gun. 3. We know that Zimmerman gave chase to Trayvon early in the scenarios. 4. Zimmerman received injuries to his face and head (from Trayvon? we don't know for sure even though there are witness stating that Trayvon attacked Zimmerman) was taken into police custody to discuss the shooting and was let go since he did not need immediate medical attention. Circumstantial evidence: 1. Trayvon caused the injuries to Zimmerman? This seems to be supported by witness statements but not with any certainty until we go to trial I suppose. 2. 911 tapes support Zimmerman's account until just before the shooting. What we don't know is what happened between the two when they were within speaking distance of each other, we don't know what happened when they were within arms distance of each other and we certainly do not know which struck/attacked/assaulted first. My whole beef is with the way the media circus around this thing has escalated. It was look at what this white guy did to this poor little black kid. Then it was a hate crime, skittles and tea sort of thing. Zimmerman was prosecuted in the court of media opinion (which forced a certain version of the story on everyone) before all the facts were out. The "media" dug into Zimmerman's past and brought out all these tapes of 911 calls, past behavior, etc. But they did not do the same for Trayvon. Race hustlers Jackson and Sharpton are fanning the race flames once again in order to rile up the community . Best of all.....CNN and the AP keep referring to Zimmerman as a white Hispanic . That's like calling the President a white African . All of the sudden when we’re talking about a racial injustice it's white this and cracker this. I bet if Zimmerman were being counted for employment reasons or education scholarships white would be nowhere near his name. This whole thing is a media circus joke. Anyone who believes what journalists report is either in on the charade or a complete idiot.

Nothing will be known for sure until this thing goes to trial. This does not mean people cannot form opinions form different sources. As far as I remember, this is a forum of OPINION. According to you, anything a journalist reports and someone believes is a complete idiot? That statement seems dick like to me.

The truth will come out in the end. Some of us might be right on some things, some of us may be wrong on some things. Luckily, none of our opinions here matter either way. A trial will settle this matter.

So you see no problem with the media pushing a certain opinion out to people? No problem with opinions that are wrong? Dick like is pushing an agenda and then backing up when questioned on it with a statement of thats my opinion and were all entitled to our opinions.
Opinions are like assholes-everyone has one, but trying someone in the court of public opinion is another. I'm tired of the search for the great white defendant in cases like this.I'm glad you have an opinion. It's opinions based on emotions that will try this case. Not facts, law, and investigation. After the needless death of a teenage boy, that is the greatest tragedy of this whole thing.

Ditto, Jeb Bush is a moron for saying that. The burden to flee only protects the attacker and often does not work out too well for the victim. Kind of reminds me of a heart warming case in I believe, New Jersey where a father protected his infant son by shooting a home invader. But because the father did not "flee" and instead pursued the burglar who was in his kid's room, the father was indicted on felony charges. Florida has been more enlightened...or so I thought.

So you are saying a trial is of no use? Both sides won't get to present their evidence? Also, please do not put words in my mouth. I know this is your fall back strategy by now. You act as if the trial is over already, when in reality you have no idea how this case will turn out. I thank you for your opinion though.

So to you....there is no such thing as public opinion? Why are so many people marching? Why are there so many pictures of people wearing "hoodies" in solidarity with Trayvon? You don't believe that public opinion can be swayed by what the media decides to report? They reported that this was a race crime. That it was some smiling little kid murdered in cold blood by a racist hispanic guy. That's public opinion. You posted the article with the bombastic thread title. You tried Zimmerman before most of the facts were known. You judged him based on his appearance, not me. You took what the media put in front of you without question and that is how you formed your opinion on. How in the hell can you write the following sentence with a straight face?"So you are saying a trial is of no use? Both sides won't get to present their evidence? Also, please do not put words in my mouth"The first part of the sentence does the very thing to me, that you are accusing me of doing to you. I'm saying we should take a breath and wait for facts to come in. And you want to say what happened in this case and try Zimmerman....but then back off when someone calls you on it because well its just my opinion. I would have never guessed you for a racist person, what has a Hispanic person done to you that you are so quick to judge Zimmerman on his appearance?

Calling someone unkempt is racist on my part? My point was that if someone was pursuing you with a gun, and looks nothing close to a police officer or someone of authority, how would you react? You know damn well my unkempt comment was not meant to be racist. I happen to be hispanic, so your insinuation is quite absurd.

The feud between the two of you is quite absurd. One who didn't know any better might conclude that there was actually something at stake :slap:

Lead Investigator in Trayvon Martin case thoguht Zimmerman should have been charged

Apparently, he did not buy Zimmerman's version of events and wanted him charged with manslaughter, and did NOT buy Zimmerman's version of events. The State Atty at the time said no, and has since been off the case. Just a recap of the stellar watch commando Zimmerman:

*Was placed in anger management classes for assault on an officer
*Prior girlfriend brought charges against him for violence against her

Here is some more information that has come to light:

    George Zimmerman, Son of a Retired Judge, Has 3 Closed Arrests - V103 - Today's R&B & Old School - WVAZ-FM Chicago

It looks like the he will be facing charges as he should have to begin with. The good thing is indepent investigative LE agencies have been brougth in. Zimmerman's dad claims his son did not pursue Trayvon, but Zimmerman admitted to it on the 911 call. The bottom line is the shooter did not hold back and let the professional police officers do their jobs, thus defying police orders like usual.

What a guy to place in charge of an unregistered neighborhood watch group. Good choice. No wonder he couldn't be a cop.

Well now I hear about Trevon attacking Zimmerman and there is a partial recording of Zimmerman calling for help. Jeez this thing is a mess. I'll withdraw my earlier statement that Zimmerman should and likely will be facing murder charges...I jumped to a conclusion like 99% of the country it seems. If the DA's office didn't have enough to press charges or go to a grand jury then who knows what will happen. I still think the political pressure will lead some agency somewhere to find something but I don't think justice is being served by the media circus. But hey on the bright side, guys like Jesse Jackson stand to make a mint race baiting in the meantime.

Here is my point. If Zimmerman had not pursued Trayvon and let LE handle it, this boy would not have been dead. We have no idea what Zimmerman claims happened, and could have made the call to 911 to cover his tracks. The 911 call also incriminates him because he did not back off like the cop told him to.

Trayvon was also on a cell phone call with his girlfriend at the time stating that he was being pursued by some crazy guy, and that he was scared. The facts will bear this thing out.

As far as a media circus. What are the parents supposed to do? Their boy is dead. This thing was going to be swept under the rug and forgotten. Who can blame these people for wanting justice done? Any parent would want the same.

For those that have kids. How would you feel right now if one of your children was killed in this manner? This boy was killed in his own gated community. Sad.

At this point all we can do is let an outside investigative agency look at this from a detached position. I do want to hear more from the Sanford Lead investigator who thought Zimmerman should have been charged with manslaughter. Apparently, this cop did not buy Zimmerman's story.

    Let wait and see.

    Abner,

The link you posted from V103 cites a story on RollingOut.com. I don't know if I would consider rollingout.com a credible source, but Rollingout.com has a note at the bottom of their article that states "It has been brought to our attention that George Zimmerman has been arrested one time, not three, and that the charges against him were dropped after he completed a pre-trial diversion program."

Why doesn't V103 and Rollingout.com change the article then? At least change the headline so its true.

As far as the ex-girlfriend bringing charges against him, that is not true. She filed for restraining order against him and he filed against her and both were granted. He was not charged with domestic violence that I could find. If you have a link please post.

We need to be patient and wait for the investigation to be completed

There is too much misinformation being reported and posted all over to make a sound judgement at this point in time. My opinion thus far is that Trayvon Martin was obviously a troubled 17 year old young man and not a sweet and innocent 12 year old kid. That does not justify killing him by any means, but we still don't know all the facts. We need to let the police finish their investigation before we jump to conclusions.

Neighborhood watches are formed with the help of local law enforcement. His "job" was to look for suspicious activity and report it to the police. Which he did. After that the water gets murky. We only have Zimmerman's word for what happened next and at least one witness corroborating parts of his story. So far, the police have not released any evidence contradicting Zimmerman's story. That does not mean he's innocent, but we can't convict him yet. It would be nice to hear the full 911 tapes. Do I think Zimmerman committed a crime? I frankly don't know yet. Time will tell. I do know that we are innocent until proven guilty in this country last time I checked.

Here is info on setting up neighborhood watch
