It's funy stuff and you've got to believe that on some level, this reflects the actual attitude of general society toward online learning.

What just kills me is most B&M's have online programs now and these people "experts" have no idea of the programs at the schools then attended.

    Oxford-

    Amherst-
University of Massachusetts: Amherst : Distance Learning

    Princeton-
Princeton - News - Oxford, Princeton, Stanford, Yale to invest $12 million in distance learning venture

The guy in the interview with Colbert works at Queens College. Here what Queens College thinks about the DETC.

Once again, this may be funny, but it's funny because it is reflecting the true public perception, at least for some. It's actually pretty scary. It also tells us something interesting that many of us have brought up here before. People are confusing the good online schools with the mills. Notice that he is mixing them all together as though all online schools are the same. We have got to find a way to create differentiation in the public eye.

Do you realize those programs do not provide credit at QC? They're basically QC marketing Penn Foster's technical programs.

I've been away from this forum for a little while - too much school work! Just posted this in the Off-topic section:

Debit or credit? Higher One's 'noodly' fees irk college students | OregonLive.com

This is from our wonderful "non-profit" colleges - talk about more debt! Excess fees are charged to students -their financial aid money is direct deposited into a Mastercard acct - the card even doubles as the student ID.

    Makes me furious!
