The professional diploma courses of Shaw Academy were accredited with 10 credit units by the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) through validation of Edinburgh Napier University.[16] They are on the European Qualifications Framework, a reference network for the comparability of national educational standards,[17] and therefore, amongst others, comparable to 10 credit units achieved through Higher National Diploma, foundation degree, Diploma of Higher Education or an associate degree in the US.[citation needed]

If this diploma is indeed equivalent to U.S. Associate's degree, I think this could be the best deal out there.

They're stating this module has a "Pathway to EQF Diploma" and they list the Level 5 EQF Diploma as parallel to a U.S. associate's. They're not saying this $59 module is the only step needed to reach that EQF Diploma.

 

Right - pathway. And they're not saying anything about additional modules for the level 5 diploma. Which there just HAVE to be, for that level. All we know for sure is - it ISN'T a degree. Some people may say it's equivalent to whatever - but it ISN'T a British degree - why? BECAUSE THIS SCHOOL CANNOT AWARD DEGREES The usual UK equivalent to an Associate's is the Foundation Degree - roughly the same amount of credit required

Apparently, the amount of credit claimed for the course may no longer be valid. From the Wiki:

Because Edinburgh Napier University is not partnering with Shaw Academy as a credit rating body since 24 July 2019, SCQF has archived the records in their database. Certificates awarded before 24 July 2019 will still be valid. [18] After this time, Shaw Academy provides the certificates without an accompanying credit rating body. Despite continuing to use the claims of recognition by the European Qualification Framework this recognition and credit rating is not found in the European Union official website under Learning Opportunities and Qualifications section. The Wiki also reports the school (Est, 2013)was involved in insolvency proceedings until a loan of about 7,5 million pounds was secured.
