Hi, I need some help. I'm new to this whole distance learning deal and I need help with finding a school. I'm looking to earn my associates degree at home. I'm looking into the field of either management or business administration. Also it must be regionally accredited and if possible a school eligible for financial aid. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Michael B.
Check out Cerro Coso Community College. Since you live in California you pay the 26.00 per unit fee. I have taken a number of courses through them and they are all very good. Here is their link: http://cconline.cerrocoso.edu/programs/ You might want to check into the CLEP and DANTES programs to see if you can test out of some subjects and earn your degree faster. Just my humble .02 cents worth!
With Cerro Coso is there any on campus requirement? I'm asking because I'm in San Diego and Cerro Coso is far from me.
No on-campus requirements. A few classes (some science and math classes) may require a proctor for your exams but they can usually be done at a local community college or library. Check out the web site, it has alot of good information and you can see what classes they are offering.
Hi Jay or anyone else who can help. I'm under the assumption that I will need a associates degree to get a bachelors is this correct? I'm looking on google to see. But If I do not need a associates for a bachelors do you have any recommendation for a bachelors degree? Thanks Again, Michael B.

Thank you for all those links, I will look at all of them and see which one looks good. I will post when I select a school and tell you how I like it.
Michael, Here are two good links for RA DL programs. Associate Programs Bachelor Programs If you find other universities not listed on the two DANTES sites above, verify the accreditation of the universities here. Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
No problem Michael. The information I provided is nothing new to this forum but if it is new to you, then it is worth posting again. Three bits of advice: 1) Look into jayncali73's advice and "check into the CLEP and DANTES programs to see if you can test out of some subjects and earn your degree faster." The web site BA in 4 Weeks may help you in this category. 2) Also, go for the bachelor degree rather than the associates. There is nothing wrong with earning an associate degree on your way to a bachelor degree, but just don't stop short. 3) Stick with RA degree programs. There is nothing wrong with NA programs, but you may find some employers won't accept an NA degree and you don't want to get caught in a situation like that. Good luck and keep us posted. As jayncali73 put it, "Just my humble .02 cents worth!"
Michael, If you decide to pursue a Bachelors degree, check out Peru State College. Peru is a regionally accredited school located in Nebraska. They offer online programs in Business Admin with a focus in Management and Marketing. Tuition is only $114/hr.! So, each course will run you just $342! http://www.peru.edu - Peru Home Page http://www.hpcnet.org/peru/schoolofprofessionalstudies/programs1 - Peru Online Degree page Good luck, Tom
